Logistic Head

Job Title: Head - Logistics

Location: Mumbai

Job Purpose:

The Head - Logistics will own end-to-end national logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, EXIM imports, 3PL management, and cost governance. The role is responsible for managing large logistics P&L, driving cost optimization, improving IFOT/OTIF performance, and enabling scalable growth through TMS/WMS automation and data-led decision making.

Key Responsibilities

Logistics Strategy & P&L Ownership

- Own and manage logistics P&L of - 50-100+ Cr, including freight, warehousing, and last-mile costs

- Conduct monthly budget vs actual variance reviews with Finance and drive cost governance

- Build OCC and freight savings pipelines through rate-card optimization and network redesign

Transportation & 3PL Management

- Lead national transportation network across primary & secondary freight

- Negotiate and manage 3PLs, carriers, and transport vendors (90+ partners)

- Implement milk-run, load-sharing, and lane optimization models to reduce cost and improve IFOT

Warehousing & Inventory Control

- Oversee multi-warehouse operations (10+ warehouses), space optimization, and safety compliance

- Ensure inventory accuracy through WMS, barcoding, cycle counting, and GRN/GRPO reconciliation

- Manage reverse logistics, non-moving and defective inventory liquidation

Systems, Automation & Analytics

- Lead TMS/WMS/ERP integration (SAP, Oracle, Shipsy, CargoFL)

- Implement automated freight billing, POD tracking, and KPI dashboards

- Develop IFOT, SLA, carrier performance, and cost variance dashboards

EXIM & International Logistics

- Manage end-to-end imports (- 150 Cr+ annually) sourcing

- Handle Incoterms (EXW/FOB/CIF), customs clearance, duty optimization, and compliance

- Coordinate urgent air shipments (DHL/FedEx) during demand spikes

Team & Stakeholder Management

- Lead cross-functional teams across Logistics, Finance, Planning, and Sales

- Manage and develop a high-performing logistics team (managers & executives)

- Drive SOP standardization, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives

Key Skills & Experience

- 8+ years of logistics & supply chain leadership experience

- Strong P&L ownership and cost optimization background

- Expertise in TMS, WMS, SAP/ERP systems

- Deep experience in transportation, warehousing, and EXIM operations

- Data-driven mindset with strong Excel, Power BI, and analytics skills

- Proven vendor negotiation and contract management capability
