Senior Analyst - Credit Portfolio Research & Client Solutions
Experience: 4 - 8 Years
About the Role:
We are looking for a Senior Analyst to strengthen credit research capabilities for institutional investors operating in international debt markets.
The role combines issuer-level financial assessment with research portfolio management, client engagement, and team coordination.
The selected professional will oversee multiple research assignments, develop analytical resources for loan and bond coverage, and translate complex credit information into actionable insights for investment decision-makers.
This position requires an individual who can balance independent financial analysis with client-specific deliverables, maintain consistency across research coverage, and guide analysts in producing dependable outputs.
Strong exposure to US and European credit markets, familiarity with debt documentation, and the ability to communicate investment implications clearly are essential for success.
Key Responsibilities:
Credit Portfolio Coverage & Research Development:
- Manage research coverage across assigned corporate issuers and industry segments, ensuring analytical deliverables remain current and aligned with client requirements.
- Develop and maintain financial forecasting models, issuer comparison screeners, and research databases to support systematic evaluation of credit opportunities.
- Assess the financial sustainability of borrowers by examining business performance, cash generation, debt repayment capacity, and exposure to industry-specific risks.
- Evaluate loan and bond structures, including creditor ranking, repayment terms, contractual protections, and restrictions affecting borrower flexibility.
- Examine credit agreements and bond indentures to identify provisions that may influence recovery prospects, refinancing options, or the risk profile of an investment.
- Track changes in issuer fundamentals, industry conditions, and debt market developments to identify emerging risks and material shifts in credit quality.
- Formulate independent credit views by weighing potential investment returns against downside exposure and issuer-specific vulnerabilities.
Analytical Deliverables & Investment Insights:
- Produce issuer research reports, financial performance reviews, and forward-looking credit assessments for institutional investment clients.
- Interpret quarterly earnings announcements and other material corporate developments to determine their implications for debt holders.
- Develop comparative assessments of companies within relevant sectors, highlighting differences in leverage, liquidity, operating resilience, and financial flexibility.
- Convert detailed financial analysis into clear investment observations, supporting portfolio managers in evaluating credit exposure and investment alternatives.
- Maintain consistency across research outputs by applying defined analytical methodologies and reviewing the completeness of supporting evidence.
- Identify opportunities to improve existing research templates, screening methodologies, and coverage processes to increase analytical efficiency.
Client Engagement & Research Solutions:
- Coordinate research delivery across multiple client accounts, translating individual requirements into clearly defined analytical workstreams.
- Discuss research findings with client stakeholders, explain key assumptions, and address queries concerning issuer performance and credit assessments.
- Adapt research outputs to different client needs while preserving analytical independence, factual accuracy, and consistency of methodology.
- Collaborate with portfolio managers and senior investment professionals to clarify research priorities and resolve complex analytical questions.
- Monitor delivery commitments across client engagements and address bottlenecks that could affect the timely completion of research assignments.
Team Supervision & Quality Management:
- Allocate research assignments across analysts according to coverage priorities, technical complexity, and delivery schedules.
- Review team outputs for analytical soundness, completeness of financial calculations, consistency of assumptions, and clarity of investment conclusions.
- Coach analysts on issuer evaluation.
