About You And This Role:
- Liferay is seeking a People Services Specialist to manage HR operations for our India workforce and also support our UAE and Saudi Arabia offices.
- This role ensures smooth execution of payroll, statutory compliance, HRIS management, employee lifecycle processes, and policy administration in alignment with business needs.
- The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in HR operations within tech/IT environments and a strong understanding of Indian labour laws and statutory regulations applicable to technology companies (Shops & Establishments Act, IT/ITES norms, contract staffing, overtime, POSH, PF, ESIC, Bonus, Gratuity, TDS, LWF).
- Experience in UAE/Saudi HR operations (payroll, WPS, GOSI, visa administration) and Talent Acquisition is a distinct advantage.
- The role requires tech-savviness, analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across geographies.
- This is a full-time, office-based role in Electronic City, Bengaluru (Mon-Fri).
- Fluency in English is required.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Management & Compliance:
- End-to-end management of India payroll using any payroll platform ( ADP, SAP, Darwinbox, Keka).
- Ensure full statutory compliance with PF, ESIC, PT, LWF, Gratuity, Bonus Act, Shops & Establishments Act, POSH, TDS, and tech-industry-specific statutory requirements.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and reports, supporting internal and external audits.
- Collaborate with UAE and Saudi payroll and compliance partners for PayrollI, visa, and benefits-related processes.
- Support Talent Acquisition needs as and when required, including coordination, documentation, or onboarding support.
- Conduct periodic payroll audits and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
- Employee Lifecycle Management. Oversee onboarding, probation, transfers, promotions, exits, and full-and-final settlements.
- Draft and maintain employment contracts, offer letters, HR letters, policy acknowledgment - forms, and addendums.
- Ensure accurate maintenance of employee data in HRIS and adherence to data privacy requirements.
- Facilitate joining formalities, orientation, and induction programs.
- HR Policies, Processes & Employee Support.
- Assist in development, implementation, and communication of HR policies and procedures.
- Respond to employee and manager queries related to payroll, statutory compliance, benefits, HR policies, and processes.
- Partner with internal teams to improve operational processes and employee experience.
- Support employee engagement initiatives, surveys, and HR-related projects.
- Reporting, Analytics & Governance. Prepare regular HR operational reports, dashboards, and metrics to track payroll, compliance, leave, and other HR KPIs.
- Use data-driven insights to identify trends, risks, and areas for process improvement.
- Support HR leadership with regulatory reporting, audits, and compliance documentation.
- Cross-Regional Collaboration. Liaise with global People Services teams coordination, reporting, and escalations.
- Support Global people initiatives, including policy harmonization, employee transfers, and compliance checks.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Management - preferably with specialization in HR.
- 3+ years of experience in HR Operations, Payroll, HR Shared Services, or People Services.
- Working knowledge of payroll and HRIS platforms (ADP, SAP, Darwinbox, Keka, GreytHR, etc.
- Strong understanding of Indian labour laws and statutory requirements applicable to technology/IT companies.
- Tech-savvy, with proficiency in HRIS, Excel, workflow automation, and reporting tools.
- High level of accuracy, confidentiality, and ownership.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to work onsite from Electronic City, Bengaluru (Mon-Fri).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exposure to UAE or Saudi HR/payroll operations, including WPS, GOSI, and visa administration.
- Experience in a multinational or matrix-based tech organization.
