Opportunity:

We are looking for an experienced Legal Counsel - Global Ethics & Compliance to join the regional legal team of a leading global multinational.

This is a high-impact regional role covering India, South Asia, Middle East and Africa, with direct exposure to senior business and legal leadership across APAC.

The role will partner closely with business stakeholders and provide strategic legal and compliance support across commercial, corporate, employment, regulatory and compliance matters.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide strategic legal counsel across commercial contracts and corporate matters, including procurement, sales, distribution, partnering, licensing and development agreements.

- Advise business teams on litigation, dispute resolution, regulatory compliance, employment/labor, competition/antitrust and import/export matters.

- Lead and manage ethics & compliance investigations, including employment and governmental investigations.

- Prepare confidential investigation reports and advise senior leadership on associated legal and compliance risks.

- Support business transactions, restructurings and other strategic initiatives across the region.

- Drive the development and strengthening of the organization's legal, ethics and compliance framework.

- Draft and implement policies, review SOPs/processes and support workplace investigations.

- Drive and contribute to the annual compliance training program across the region.

- Partner with senior stakeholders across a matrix organization and translate complex legal requirements into practical, commercially viable solutions.

- Collaborate with the wider APAC Legal team based in Hong Kong and legal teams globally.

Ideal Profile:

- 15+ years of legal experience, with experience in both a Tier-1 law firm and a leadership role within a multinational organization.

- Law degree from a reputed university/institution.

- Strong expertise in commercial contracts and corporate law.

- Experience in ethics, compliance and investigations is essential.

- Strong exposure to employment/labor law preferred.

- Must have working experience in international compliance frameworks including: U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), U.K. Bribery Act and Antitrust / Competition Laws.

- Experience managing teams and working with senior leadership will be an advantage.

- Strong business acumen with the ability to assess complex situations, present practical options and influence senior stakeholders.

- Ability to operate effectively within a fast-paced, complex and highly matrixed multinational environment.

- High degree of integrity, discretion, attention to detail and sound judgment.
