
Key Responsibilities:
- Fintech Advisory: Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of fintech-related matters, including digital payments, cross-border transactions, digital wallets, and B2B payment solutions, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- UAE Legal & Regulatory Expertise: Serve as a primary legal resource for matters pertaining to UAE legal and regulatory frameworks. This includes staying abreast of new and evolving regulations, interpreting their impact on business operations, and advising on compliance strategies.
- Corporate/Commercial Law: Draft, review, and negotiate a diverse range of corporate and commercial agreements, including partnership agreements, vendor contracts, service agreements, and terms and conditions for products and services.
- Compliance: Develop, implement, and monitor compliance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to local and international legal and regulatory requirements, particularly those relevant to financial services and fintech.
- Dispute Resolution: Manage and advise on dispute resolution matters, including litigation, arbitration, and mediation, representing the company's interests effectively.
- Legal Research & Analysis: Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to provide accurate and practical legal opinions to internal stakeholders.
- Risk Management: Identify potential legal risks and proactively develop strategies to mitigate them, safeguarding the company's interests.
- Internal Collaboration: Collaborate closely with various internal departments, including product development, operations, finance, and business development, to provide timely and effective legal support.
- International Travel: Be open to frequent travel to Dubai to engage with local teams, regulators, and partners.
Requirements
- Education: LLB degree from a reputable university. An LLM (Master of Laws) is a significant plus.
- Experience: 5-8 years of post-qualification experience in a relevant legal role, preferably within the fintech sector or a law firm advising fintech clients.
- UAE Legal & Regulatory Exposure (Mandatory): Strong and demonstrable exposure to and understanding of UAE legal and regulatory frameworks, particularly those governing financial services, payments, and technology.
