Role Details:
Designation: Director / Associate Partner / Partner (Strategic Business Unit SBU)
Location: Mumbai / Delhi
Reporting: Operates independently within a flat organizational structure, reporting to senior leadership
Organizational Structure:
- Lean and flat structure with each SBU functioning as an independent profit center
- Each SBU is led by a senior professional and supported by a team (AVP / Manager / Associates / Analysts)
- Teams are expected to develop deep sector expertise and maintain strong industry relationships
- Each SBU typically covers 23 sectors to ensure relevance and deal flow continuity
Financial Structure:
- Each SBU is expected to generate revenue multiple times its fixed cost base
- Profit pool participation begins after achieving a predefined revenue threshold
- Profit-sharing ranges between 20% to 50%, linked to revenue performance
- Higher fixed compensation corresponds to lower profit share and vice versa
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive overall performance, profitability, and growth of the SBU
- Lead business development initiatives and build a strong deal pipeline
- Manage client relationships end-to-end, ensuring high satisfaction and long-term engagement
- Oversee execution of transactions, ensuring quality and timeliness
- Build, mentor, and retain high-performing teams
- Align SBU objectives with broader organizational goals
- Ensure compliance, risk assessment, and ethical standards across engagements
- Monitor team performance and conduct periodic reviews and appraisals
- Maintain reporting discipline including MIS, client updates, and internal systems
- Collaborate across teams to leverage knowledge, resources, and relationships
Principal Accountabilities:
- Ownership of SBU P&L, team performance, and delivery outcomes
- Development of sector expertise and market positioning
- Ensuring discipline, governance, and process adherence
- Maintaining strong control over client engagement and execution quality
- Identifying and mitigating risks in client relationships and transactions
- Driving collaboration and knowledge sharing across teams
