Position Overview

This role is responsible for shaping design excellence across workplace, retail, mixed-use, and industrial assets while ensuring alignment with business objectives, tenant expectations, and market positioning.

The ideal candidate blends visionary leadership with operational discipline, driving innovative, commercially viable design solutions that enhance asset value and tenant experience.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

- Define and champion the design vision across all commercial real estate projects.

- Align design strategy with leasing, development, asset management, and investment goals.

- Partner with executive leadership to position design as a value driver and differentiator.

- Establish design standards, guidelines, and brand consistency across portfolios.

Studio Management

- Build, mentor, and lead a multidisciplinary design team (architecture, interiors, workplace strategy, branding, visualization).

- Oversee studio workflow, resource allocation, and project prioritization.

- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and collaboration.

- Manage design budgets and consultant contracts.

Project Oversight

- Direct design from concept through delivery across ground-up developments, repositioning projects, and tenant improvements.

- Review and approve design concepts, drawings, specifications, and material selections.

- Ensure compliance with local regulations, sustainability goals, and commercial feasibility.

- Maintain quality control and design excellence across all assets.

Commercial & Stakeholder Engagement

- Collaborate with leasing teams to support tenant acquisition and retention through design strategy.

- Present design concepts to investors, partners, and executive stakeholders.

- Engage with tenants to understand operational needs and translate them into compelling design solutions.

- Represent the company in industry forums and design networks.

Innovation & Sustainability

- Integrate ESG principles and sustainable design practices into projects.

- Track emerging workplace and retail trends to future-proof assets.

- Leverage technology and data to enhance design performance and efficiency.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field.

- 10-15+ years of experience in commercial real estate, architecture, or workplace design.

- Proven leadership experience managing design teams and complex project portfolios.

- Strong understanding of commercial leasing, development cycles, and asset performance metrics.

- Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite).

- Strong executive presence and presentation skills.
