Role/ Job Title: Lead/SVP : Trade Finance Back Office Operations

Function/ Department: Wholesale Banking

Job Purpose:

- Trade Finance professional with strong functional knowledge of the given one or more Trade Products (Non-Fund Based - LCs / BGs, Fund Based, Collections, Imports and Exports, Cross Border Inward and Outward Remittances, Capital A/c Trans).

- The role also entails responsibility implementing the Best-in-Class processes / workflows / SOPs across the Trade dept. irrespective of the business segment. Individual with commitment on Business SLAs and sustenance, cost & productivity management, risk management. Previous experience required in Trade Transaction with preferably in back-office operations.

- Product domain knowledge / should be subject matter expert. Identifying of risks and instilling adequate and robust processes and controls (automated / manual) to ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations.

- The role is primarily accountable and responsible for key operational responsibilities meeting customer / business SLAs in TAT and Quality for the given products, irrespective of the segments.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Responsible for operational performance, service quality & control environment for the given products.

- Domain / Subject Matter Expert. Complete and hands on knowledge on the life cycle of the given products

- Knowledge of one or more Trade Products preferred

- Instilling measurement metrics and defining monitoring process

- Ensure processing as per Delegation of Authority (DOP) and making the teams aware about the delegation of authority from time to time.

- Stakeholder Management -Ability to interact and build strong internal relationships

- Deliverable as per Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the mentioned products

- Risk, Compliance & Audit - Internal / External inspections, reviews etc. Ability to handle internal, statutory, concurrent, regulatory audits & ensuring timely & final closure of audit observations & reports by active engagement with the audit teams

- Management by exception - Housekeeping, Reconciliation and Reporting - Monitor and review exception reports / MIS and discussing significant matters with Head of the Department

- Process Re-designing and re- engineering- Ensure system and quality enhancements by monitoring the respective activities and processes implemented and by keeping abreast with new methods & practices. Frequently reviewing processes and identifying gaps thereby bringing in operational efficiency. Ability to single handedly drive projects as per agreed timelines. Ability to work on end-to-end solution for end customers.

- Training & Competence Building - Build deep capability around the team and training the teams from time to time and facilitating cross skilling within the department, thereby improving the learning curve of the teams at large. Ensuring job rotations within the teams, thereby encouraging teams to take up new assignments. Building a strong second in line. Nominating teams for external trainings in the overall interest of the department.
