R&D Development Leader Mobile OS & System Engineering

Description:

We are hiring an R&D Development Leader to drive Android OS, system engineering, and next-generation smartphone innovation for Transsions global product portfolio. This role is ideal for a senior technologist with deep expertise in Android OS internals, system architecture, and end-to-end mobile platform development.

You will lead multi-functional engineering teams, collaborate closely with China R&D, and own the delivery of core OS features for India and global markets.

Key Responsibilities:

Mobile OS & System Engineering:

- Lead end-to-end development for Android OS features, frameworks, system apps & System UI.

- Architect scalable, performant, and secure mobile system solutions.

- Drive system optimization: power, memory, stability, and device performance.

- Oversee chipset-level integration and platform development.

R&D Leadership:

- Lead cross-functional teams across System Engineering, UX, AI/ML, and feature development.

- Drive sprint cycles, delivery milestones, and quality reviews.

- Provide strong technical direction and mentorship to engineering teams.

Innovation & Benchmarking:

- Benchmark global OEMs for latest OS features and performance trends.

- Identify opportunities across UI/UX, personalization, camera, security, and system intelligence.

- Drive patents, research collaborations, and new technology concepts.

Global Collaboration:

- Partner with China HQ and global engineering, QA, design, and product planning teams.

- Ensure alignment on OS roadmap, delivery timelines, and feature launches.

Project Delivery:

- Own timely releases of firmware, system updates, and feature rollouts.

- Drive issue triaging, debugging, and optimization across hardware, platform, and QA teams.

Requirements:

- 10 to 18 years of experience in Android OS / System Software / Mobile R&D.

- Strong expertise in AOSP, HAL, Frameworks, System UI, Camera Stack, Android architecture.

- Proven record of delivering large-scale system features for millions of users.

- Experience with chipset/platform optimization.

- Strong leadership experience managing R&D or multi-functional engineering teams.

- Deep understanding of Android ecosystem, mobile trends, and competitive benchmarking.

- B.Tech/M.Tech in Electronics, Computer Science, or related fields.
