Job Purpose:
To drive innovation in cement and concrete products by improving quality, reducing costs, and developing sustainable construction materials aligned with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Product Development & Innovation
- Develop new cement formulations (e.g., blended cement, low-carbon cement)
- Improve existing product performance (strength, durability, setting time)
- Work on advanced materials like admixtures and specialty concrete
2. Research & Experimentation
- Conduct lab experiments on raw materials like limestone, clinker, gypsum, fly ash, slag
- Analyze chemical and physical properties of cement
- Use testing methods for compressive strength, fineness, heat of hydration, etc.
3. Process Optimization
- Collaborate with plant teams to improve kiln efficiency and grinding processes
- Reduce energy consumption and CO emissions
- Implement process improvements based on research findings
4. Quality Control & Assurance
- Ensure compliance with BIS and international standards
- Troubleshoot product quality issues from plants or customers
- Conduct root cause analysis for failures
5. Sustainability & Green Initiatives
- Develop eco-friendly cement (low clinker factor, alternative fuels)
- Work on waste utilization (fly ash, slag, industrial by-products)
- Support carbon footprint reduction projects
6. Technical Support
- Assist marketing and sales teams with technical insights
- Handle customer complaints related to product performance
- Provide site-level technical guidance when needed
7. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain detailed reports of experiments and findings
- Prepare technical papers, patents, and internal documentation
- Present research outcomes to senior management
