Role Overview:
As Lead - Procurement, you will own the economic intelligence and cost structure of the business - from forecasting and budgeting to raw-material strategy, CAPEX decisions, and supplier ecosystems. Your mandate is to ensure every procurement decision strengthens margins, continuity, and scale-readiness.
You will operate at the intersection of data, market insight, and negotiation power - building procurement as a strategic weapon, not a support function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own procurement-led forecast planning in line with sales, launches, and seasonality.
- Translate demand forecasts into raw material and packaging procurement plans.
- Anticipate demand spikes and prevent stock-outs or over-buying.
- Build and own annual procurement budgets across ingredients, packaging, and indirects.
- Track budget vs actuals and drive cost discipline throughout the year.
- Lead procurement for CAPEX investments - machinery, tooling, moulds, automation, and infra.
- Evaluate ROI, vendor capability, lifecycle cost, and scalability.
- Lead high-stakes negotiations with key suppliers and partners.
- Develop deep insider understanding of crop cycles, seasonality, yield trends, and commodity markets.
- Track price movements and implement dynamic pricing and forward-buying strategies.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers and alternates.
- Build a multi-vendor, de-risked sourcing ecosystem.
- Ensure procurement decisions meet quality, food safety, and regulatory standards.
- Strengthen procurement systems, ERP integration, and approval workflows.
What We're Looking For:
- 8 - 12 years of experience in Procurement / Strategic Sourcing.
- Strong FMCG / Food / Agri / Consumer Products background.
- Proven exposure to crop-linked raw materials and commodity pricing.
- Experience handling CAPEX procurement and vendor negotiations.
- Strong commercial acumen with analytical depth.
