Lead/Manager - Risk Management - Algorithmic & High-Frequency Trading - Equity Derivatives

About the Role:

A leading financial services firm is seeking an experienced risk management professional to lead risk oversight for its High-Frequency Trading business in Equity Derivatives. The role is responsible for designing and managing real-time risk frameworks, strengthening trading controls, ensuring regulatory compliance, and partnering with trading, technology, and compliance teams to safeguard low-latency trading operations across Indian exchanges.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead real-time risk management for High-Frequency Trading strategies in Equity Derivatives.

- Define and implement pre-trade, real-time, and post-trade risk controls and exposure limits.

- Partner with technology teams to strengthen low-latency risk infrastructure, monitoring, and automated alerts.

- Ensure compliance with Securities and Exchange Board of India and exchange regulations governing algorithmic trading.

- Lead investigations into trading incidents, algorithm failures, and market disruptions while driving continuous improvement in risk controls.

- Present risk metrics, governance updates, and regulatory reporting to senior leadership and risk committees.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

- 7-12 years of experience in High-Frequency Trading or Algorithmic Trading risk management.

- Strong expertise in Equity Derivatives, market microstructure, and Indian capital markets.

- Hands-on experience with trading risk engines, surveillance platforms, and real-time risk controls.

- Good understanding of low-latency trading infrastructure, Financial Information eXchange protocols, exchange connectivity, and clearing mechanisms.

- Prior experience leading risk management for an HFT firm, proprietary trading desk, or institutional trading business.

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, or Computer Science. Chartered Financial Analyst, Financial Risk Manager, or Professional Risk Manager certification is preferred.
