Lead - Logistics - Textile Industry

Job Summary:

The role will lead and manage end-to-end logistics operations covering inbound raw materials, internal material movement, warehousing, and outbound dispatch of yarn and finished goods. The position is responsible for ensuring cost-efficient logistics operations, on-time delivery, regulatory compliance, inventory accuracy, and high levels of customer satisfaction across domestic and export markets.

Key Responsibilities:

End-to-End Logistics Operations:

- Lead inbound logistics planning for raw materials including cotton, polyester, chemicals, packing materials, and other inputs.

- Oversee warehousing, storage, handling, and internal movement of yarn packages and work-in-process materials.

- Ensure efficient coordination between production, warehouse, and dispatch teams.

Outbound & Distribution Management:

- Manage timely dispatch of finished yarn to domestic and export customers.

- Optimize route planning, truck placement, and fleet utilization to control logistics costs.

- Ensure real-time tracking of vehicle movements and adherence to delivery schedules.

Inventory & Systems Management:

- Ensure accurate inventory transactions, postings, and reconciliation through SAP/ERP systems.

- Monitor and control inventory variances, losses, and discrepancies.

Process Improvement & Compliance:

- Implement modern warehousing practices, packaging standards, and space optimization techniques.

- Ensure compliance with safety, statutory, and quality standards.

- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance logistics efficiency and service levels.

Customer & Stakeholder Management:

- Resolve customer delivery issues including shortages, damages, delays, and documentation discrepancies.

- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external transporters to ensure smooth operations.

People Leadership & Safety:

- Build a strong safety culture across logistics operations.

- Lead, develop, and mentor logistics teams with clear performance accountability.

Required Experience:

- 12-18 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or distribution operations.

- Strong exposure to manufacturing / textile / yarn / fiber / FMCG / industrial environments.

- Hands-on experience in inbound logistics, warehousing, outbound dispatch, and fleet management.

- Proven experience in SAP/ERP-based inventory and logistics management.

- Experience handling domestic and export logistics operations will be preferred.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Supply Chain / Logistics / Operations / Industrial Management.

- MBA / PG Diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Operations Management preferred.
