
Key Responsibilities:
HR Business Partnering:
- Support the build-out of India operations policies, structures, and HR frameworks aligned to global standards.
- Drive employee engagement, retention, and culture initiatives across India teams.
- Partner with global HR leadership to localise and implement global HR programs.
Payroll and Compliance:
- Own end-to-end payroll management for India operations - accuracy, timeliness, and statutory compliance.
- Hands-on experience processing and managing payroll on SAP - mandatory.
- Ensure compliance with all Indian employment laws including PF, ESI, gratuity, professional tax, TDS, and Shops and Establishments Act.
- Manage statutory filings, audits, and liaisons with government authorities.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Indian labour law amendments and regulatory changes.
- Ensure HR policies and employment contracts are compliant with applicable Indian regulations.
- Coordinate payroll reconciliations, tax computations, and year-end compliance activities including Form 16 and TDS returns.
Talent Acquisition and Onboarding:
- Partner with hiring managers on specialist hiring across India.
- Design and implement structured onboarding programs for new hires.
- Build relationships with external recruiting partners and talent sources.
Performance and Rewards:
- Support performance management cycles including goal setting, mid-year reviews, and annual appraisals.
- Advise on compensation benchmarking, salary structures, and rewards frameworks aligned to Indian market standards.
- Manage employee relations issues with empathy and in line with Indian law.
HR Analytics and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate HR data and generate regular reports on headcount, attrition, compliance, and engagement for India and global leadership.
- Build dashboards and trackers to give leadership real-time visibility on key HR metrics.
Requirements:
- MBA Human Resources or equivalent from a reputed institution.
- 8 to 10 years of progressive HR experience with at least 4 to 5 years as an HRBP.
- Strong hands-on payroll management experience on SAP - mandatory, any industry accepted.
- Deep knowledge of Indian employment laws, statutory compliance, and labour regulations - non-negotiable.
- Experience supporting a scaling or greenfield India operation is a strong advantage.
- Exposure to multinational or global company HR practices preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage global leadership effectively.
- Based in Pune.
