We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our hedging activities within the Copper Business. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record in implementing effective hedging strategies, managing risk, and ensuring financial stability within the copper industry. Role Description: - Develop and implement comprehensive hedging strategies to manage price risks associated with copper market fluctuations. - Monitor and analyze market trends, global economic indicators, and geopolitical events that impact copper prices, providing timely recommendations for hedging activities. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and procurement, to align hedging strategies with overall business objectives. - Evaluate and select appropriate financial instruments, such as futures contracts, options, and forward contracts, to execute hedging strategies effectively. - Conduct scenario analyses and stress tests to assess the potential impact of different market scenarios on the company's financial performance. - Establish and maintain relationships with financial institutions, brokers, and other external partners to ensure access to competitive hedging products and services. - Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders, summarizing hedging activities, performance, and effectiveness. Qualifications & Experience: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field - Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field; Master's degree preferred. - Over 10 years of relevant experience in a leading hedging role within the copper or commodities industry. - Strong understanding of copper market dynamics, including supply and demand factors, pricing trends, and geopolitical influences. - Proficiency in using financial modeling tools and software for scenario analysis and risk assessment. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed and data-driven decisions. - Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to liaise with internal teams and external partners. - Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. - Knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements related to hedging activities.
