Job Description:

Lead Finance Controller (Mining only)

Company: Sterling Oil & Gas

Location: Nigeria

Qualification: Chartered Accountant (CA)

Experience: 12 - 20 Years

Age: 35 - 45 Years

Industry Preference: Mining Industry Only (Mandatory) - minimum annual turnover of 3,000 Cr with minimum 5 - year experience in mining

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning & Business Control:

- Lead the overall finance and controllership function for mining operations.

- Drive annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.

- Monitor business performance against budgets and provide strategic recommendations.

- Conduct detailed financial analysis and support business decision-making.

CAPEX & OPEX Management:

- Develop and control annual CAPEX and OPEX budgets.

- Monitor project expenditures and operational costs to ensure financial efficiency.

- Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve profitability across operations.

- Review investment proposals and provide commercial and financial evaluation.

Treasury & Fund Management:

- Manage fund arrangement, treasury operations, and banking relationships.

- Ensure optimum fund allocation and utilization across mining projects.

- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity requirements.

- Support management in raising and managing project and operational funding.

Systems & Reporting Skills:

- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

- Strong working knowledge of Power BI.

- Expertise in dashboard creation, financial analytics, and business reporting.

- Ability to convert complex financial data into actionable business insights.

Governance, Compliance & Controls:

- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, statutory regulations, and internal policies.

- Drive strong internal controls and risk management practices.

- Lead internal and external audits.

- Ensure adherence to corporate governance frameworks.

Team Leadership:

- Lead, mentor, and develop a finance team of 10 - 15+ members.

- Build a high-performance finance organization focused on operational excellence.

- Drive team capability development and succession planning.

- Collaborate effectively with business heads, plant leadership, and senior management.
