Lead - Finance & Accounts Receivable
About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Lead Finance & Accounts / Receivable to oversee and manage the receivables function and ensure accurate financial record-keeping.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for streamlining accounts receivable processes, managing collections, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain healthy cash flows and financial accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounts Receivable Management: Oversee the end-to-end accounts receivable process including invoicing, payment collection, reconciliation, and aging analysis.
- Credit Management: Evaluate customer creditworthiness, set credit limits, and work with sales to ensure effective credit risk management.
- Cash Application & Allocation: Ensure timely and accurate application of incoming payments against invoices and resolve discrepancies.
- Collections & Follow-up: Develop and implement effective collection strategies, follow up on overdue accounts, and coordinate with legal teams for escalations if necessary.
- Customer Relationship: Maintain strong communication with customers regarding billing issues, payment terms, and dispute resolutions to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Reporting & Analysis: Prepare detailed accounts receivable reports, cash flow forecasts, and aging analysis for management review.
- Provide insights to improve receivables turnover and reduce days sales outstanding (DSO).
- Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies and recommend process enhancements to optimize the receivables cycle and reduce risk.
- Compliance & Controls: Ensure adherence to company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements related to financial transactions.
- Support internal and external audits as needed.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounts receivable professionals to achieve operational excellence.
- Collaboration: Work closely with finance, sales, legal, and customer service teams to resolve payment issues and align financial and business goals.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelors /master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field.
- 6+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivable, finance, or accounting roles.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and receivables management best practices.
- Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems (e., SAP, Oracle, Tally).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage customer relationships effectively.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Experience in managing and leading teams.
