Lead/Deputy General Manager - Taxation - CA

Role Overview :

We are seeking a seasoned GST Lead / DGM - Indirect Tax to head the GST function for a large manufacturing plant. The role is pivotal in ensuring compliance, managing audits, and representing the organization in government dealings.

Key Responsibilities :

- Oversee GST compliance including filings, reconciliations, audits, and responses

- Manage GST audits and investigations with strong documentation and closure

- Provide tax advisory for contracts, supply chain, and business structuring; evaluate risks and mitigation strategies

- Drive SAP (S/4HANA preferred) integration for GST configuration, transaction flows, and system controls

- Establish internal control frameworks ensuring audit readiness and compliance traceability

- Prepare GST MIS reports, handle notices/SCNs, and maintain effective government liaison

- Lead and mentor a small team, ensuring capability building and accountability

Candidate Profile :

- Chartered Accountant with 12-18 years of Indirect Taxation (GST focus), preferably in large manufacturing industry

- Strong expertise in GST laws, compliance, audits, litigation management,

- Good SAP knowledge (S/4HANA preferred) with business modelling and tax configuration expertise

- Excellent drafting, communication, analytical, and leadership skills

- Mature professional capable of representing the organization in government dealings
