Lead - Data Scientist - Bureau Analytics - BFSI

Role: Data Scientist - BFSI (Bureau Analytics)

We are looking for a highly motivated Data Scientist with strong expertise in bureau data and advanced analytics to drive data-driven decision-making in the BFSI domain. The ideal candidate will combine business understanding with technical depth in machine learning and statistical modeling, while also mentoring a growing analytics team.

Key Responsibilities:

- Translate complex business problems into scalable data science and analytics solutions

- Work extensively with bureau data to derive actionable insights

- Mentor and train data scientists and analysts within the team

- Research, evaluate, and implement machine learning and AI algorithms

- Build and deploy statistical and ML models using Python, R, Spark, or Databricks

- Develop a deep understanding of business drivers and decision-making frameworks

- Collaborate cross-functionally with Credit, Policy, Collections, Operations, and Product teams

- Present insights, models, and recommendations to senior stakeholders

Desired Skills & Experience:

- 4+ years of hands-on experience in data analysis (bureau data preferred) within BFSI

- Strong foundation in machine learning algorithms (GBM, Logistic Regression, Linear Regression, Deep Learning)

- Proficiency in Python/R with experience in model development and deployment

- Excellent problem-solving, analytical thinking, and data interpretation skills

- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities

- Experience leading or mentoring data science/analytics teams is preferred

- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS is a plus

Educational background in Statistics, Computer Science, or related fields
