Lead - Policy
Description:
We are Hiring for an NBFC.
Job Purpose:
To define, implement, and govern credit and risk policies for the Supply Chain Finance (SCF) business at Godrej Finance Ltd, ensuring sustainable growth with robust portfolio quality. The role is responsible for designing credit frameworks, risk parameters, and operational policies for anchors, vendors, and dealers, while balancing business objectives with compliance, governance, and regulatory requirements.
Role Policy Design & Governance:
- Develop, review, and update credit & risk policies for SCF products (vendor financing, dealer/distributor financing, bill discounting, payables/receivables financing).
- Define risk acceptance criteria, credit norms, exposure limits, and approval matrices for anchors and ecosystems.
- Establish operational guidelines, documentation standards, and process flows for SCF transactions.
- Build a governance framework for continuous monitoring of portfolio health.
Risk Management:
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks across anchors, vendors, and dealers.
- Work closely with credit and business teams to structure policies that enable business while safeguarding risk.
- Ensure portfolio diversification and monitor risk concentration at anchor/sector levels.
- Implement early warning systems and risk triggers for proactive portfolio management.
Compliance & Regulatory Alignment:
- Ensure all SCF policies comply with RBI guidelines, regulatory requirements, and internal audit norms.
- Conduct periodic audits and reviews to ensure adherence to policy.
- Maintain documentation for internal and external regulatory reporting.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with Business, Credit, Operations, and Product teams to ensure smooth implementation of policies.
- Support technology integration by defining policy rules for digital underwriting and automated decisioning engines.
- Provide policy training to credit managers and business teams.
Strategic Contribution:
- Provide risk insights and policy recommendations to senior leadership for SCF strategy.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor practices, and regulatory changes to proactively refine policies.
- Enable scalable, tech-driven, and sustainable policy frameworks.
Qualification & experience:
- CA / MBA (Finance) or equivalent professional qualification.
- 10 to 15 years of experience in credit policy, risk management, or underwriting in SCF, working capital, or trade finance.
- Strong knowledge of RBI regulations, governance frameworks, and credit policy formulation.
- Exposure to digital SCF platforms, automated underwriting, and fintech collaborations preferred.
