Our client , one of respected Indian transnational conglomorate, seeks Lead Compensation and Benefits for the entire group. This role is based at Pune. This role reports to the Group CHRO.

Position Summary :

The Lead Compensation & Benefits is responsible for the strategic design, implementation, and continuous improvement of comprehensive compensation and benefits programs. This leadership role ensures alignment of total rewards strategies with corporate objectives, market competitiveness, and compliance with Indian labor laws. The incumbent will partner with senior HR, finance, legal, and business leaders to attract, engage, and retain top talent across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Policy Development:

- Develop and lead the organization's compensation and benefits strategy, policies, and procedures tailored for India.

- Benchmark compensation and benefits practices using market surveys and internal analyses to maintain competitiveness.

- Advise leaders and remuneration committees on annual review processes, long-term incentives, and policy guidelines.

Program Design & Administration:

- Design and oversee annual compensation review cycles, including merit increases and market adjustments.

- Lead the implementation of sales/productivity-linked incentives, variable pay, retention, and severance plans.

- Ensure equity in pay practices through effective job evaluation and grade structuring.

- Partner with HRIS and analytics teams to enhance total rewards programs and reporting.

Benefits Management:

- Design, implement, and administer employee benefits for health, retirement, insurance, and wellness.

- Conduct regular benchmarking to optimize benefit program offerings.

- Should have shared services, salary benchmarking, job evaluation, central payroll experience

Compliance & Audit:

- Experience of incentives, bonus and total rewards.

- Compliances related to gratuity and offboarding

- Ensure all pay and benefits programs comply with relevant laws and statutory requirements in India.

- Conduct periodic audits and prepare compliance reports; proactively address legislative and market changes.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:

- Flexibility in timings, agility in behavior and collaboration

- Serve as a center point of contact for compensation and benefit matters, advising employees and management.

- Deliver manager/employee training and communication on total rewards programs.

- Foster effective partnerships with external vendors for program administration and benchmarking.

Performance Management & Analytics:

- Support the design and execution of the annual performance management process and act as subject matter expert.

- Set standards for key HR metrics, focusing on compensation spend analysis and wage management.

- Utilize data-driven insights to recommend improvements and drive strategic decisions.

Qualifications:

- Master's degree in Human Resources,

- 15-20 years of progressive experience in compensation and benefits, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in India.

- Deep understanding of Indian labor laws, competitive pay structures, and benefits administration.

Strong analytical skills:

- Proficiency in project management, stakeholder engagement, and policy frameworks.

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.

Desired Experience:

- Experience in large, complex manufacturing organizations preferred.

- Ability to work at both strategic and operational levels and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
