Role Summary:

The Lead Business Analyst will play a critical role in driving data engineering initiatives by bridging business, product, and technology teams. The role is responsible for prioritization, requirement definition, stakeholder management, and agile delivery of data platforms, pipelines, and downstream analytics use cases. The incumbent will also act as a Scrum Master for the squad and mentor junior BAs.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Delivery & Agile Execution:

- Manage, monitor, and execute the prioritization backlog defined by the Product Owner and Data Engineering squad

- Own end to end feature and data requirement understanding from:

1. Business & functional standpoint

2. Process & customer journeys

3. Data and technical perspectives (sources, transformations, KPIs)

- Facilitate daily scrum, sprint planning, grooming, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies, act as Scrum Master for the squad

- Ensure squad velocity and delivery commitments are met; proactively flag slippages and risks

Business & Data Requirements:

- Translate business requirements into clear data and functional specifications, including:

1. Source systems and data attributes

2. Business rules, calculations, and transformations

3. Reporting, dashboards, and analytical outputs

- Create and maintain:

1. Workflows and process flows

2. Data flow diagrams and system architecture views

3. Requirement traceability and data mappings

Stakeholder & Dependency Management:

- Triage and coordinate with business stakeholders, technology teams, and dependent squads to resolve impediments

- Drive internal and external coordination for data inputs required for OMs, SteerCo, and governance forums

- Partner closely with Product Owner to track business and customer engagement funnels driven through data and insights

Data, Insights & Showcase:

- Support data management activities including data validation, reconciliation, and UAT support

- Perform feature and data solution showcases for business and leadership stakeholders

- Collaborate with peer Business Analysts across squads to:

1. Streamline processes

2. Promote reusable data assets, definitions, and components

Own the demand management process:

- Work with all internal stakeholders to follow the due process of demand regarding data and solutions

- Coordinate with internal team (Data Engineers) to update progress regularly

Secondary Responsibilities:

- Drive knowledge management through documentation, playbooks, and standard artifacts

- Identify and implement industry best practices in data, analytics, and agile delivery

Managerial & Leadership Responsibilities:

- Mentor and guide junior and mid level Business Analysts

- Review and ensure quality of requirement artifacts and deliverables

- Act as a role model for Agile and data driven ways of working
