Function: Risk / Compliance - Collections

Reporting To: Strategy Head collections

Role Purpose:

Lead and strengthen the audit, compliance, and governance framework for the Collections function in an NBFC environment, ensuring full adherence to RBI regulations, Fair Practices Code, outsourcing norms, and ethical recovery practices, while minimizing regulatory, legal, and reputational risk.

Key Responsibilities:

- Own end-to-end collections compliance in line with RBI guidelines and NBFC regulations.

- Design and execute risk-based audits across in-house collections, field operations, call centers, and third-party agencies.

- Oversee empanelment, monitoring, and audits of collection agencies, including corrective actions and termination for breaches.

- Handle customer complaints and regulatory escalations (RBI / Ombudsman / Legal).

- Translate regulatory changes into policies, SOPs, and controls for collections.

- Drive compliance training and ethical collections culture across teams and vendors.

- Present compliance MIS and audit findings to Senior Management, Risk Committee, and Audit Committee.

Key Skills & Competencies:

- Strong knowledge of RBI regulations, Fair Practices Code, outsourcing & recovery norms

- Hands-on experience with NBFC collections and agency-driven models

- Expertise in audit, compliance, and risk management

- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

- High integrity, independence, and attention to detail
