Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced engineering leader to head our Application Development & Engineering function. As the Lead - Application Development & Engineering (MFOPS), you will define and execute the technology strategy, scale engineering operations, and build a world-class engineering culture.

You'll play a pivotal role in aligning technology with business goals, driving innovation, modernizing systems, and ensuring that our teams, platforms, and processes are optimized for rapid growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Transform Chaos into Clarity

- Take a holistic, company-wide view of engineering workflows, processes, and platforms.

- Identify systemic challenges and implement scalable solutions to remove friction and boost productivity.

- Define and drive engineering excellence standards-reducing build times, optimizing CI/CD pipelines, and streamlining development environments.

2. Technical Strategy & Architecture

- Define the long-term engineering vision, strategy, and roadmap, setting direction for architecture, infrastructure, and security.

- Ensure adoption of modern, scalable, and secure technologies, balancing delivery speed with system resilience and maintainability.

- Drive operational excellence, architecture evolution, and security best practices.

- Scale Agile and Lean methodologies to work effectively across multiple teams and product lines.

3. Build & Scale a World-Class Engineering Practice

- Build, inspire, and scale high-performing engineering teams across diverse domains.

- Foster an engineering culture rooted in innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

- Champion technical excellence, empowering teams to take bold bets, experiment, and learn fast.

4. Application Development & Full-Stack Expertise

- Influence the design and development of customer-facing applications, internal platforms, and APIs.

- Provide technical guidance and best practices in full-stack development, scalability, and performance optimization.

- Ensure security, reliability, and maintainability are embedded in every solution.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Experience:

- 14+ years of total engineering experience.

- 5+ years in senior leadership roles managing large, cross-functional teams.

- Proven experience scaling engineering teams and delivering complex, large-scale, high-performance systems.

- Strong technical background across software development, infrastructure, and architecture.

- Deep knowledge of microservices architecture, streaming technologies, and scalability principles.

- Hands-on expertise in DevOps, SRE, CI/CD, and Test Automation.

- Experience in Agile development, Scrum, and project tracking tools like Jira.

- Strong project management skills-able to lead complex engineering programs from conception to delivery.

- Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills with the ability to influence executive stakeholders.

- Demonstrated ability to align technology strategy with business objectives.
