
Role Objective:
The Lead Analyst will be responsible for driving sector-level thought leadership and revenue-oriented research in the Midcap space. The role combines deep fundamental research, client-facing engagement and team leadership, with a clear mandate to generate actionable investment ideas for professional investor clients.
Key Role Expectations:
1. Research Ownership & Idea Generation:
- Lead in-depth fundamental research on the Midcap sector through interactions with company management, industry experts, regulators and policymakers.
- Convert qualitative sector insights into robust financial models, valuations, and investment theses.
- Maintain active coverage, delivering timely, actionable calls aligned with market developments.
- Consistently generate money-making research ideas that translate into brokerage and client engagement outcomes.
2. Client & Business Engagement:
- Actively interact with institutional clients, professional investors, fund managers, and prop desks.
- Conduct client calls/meetings to articulate views, drive alpha and strengthen relationships.
- Partner with Sales teams to enable meaningful client conversations using sector insights.
- Represent the firm with clients, corporates and occasionally media as a credible sector expert.
3. Leadership & Team Development:
- Mentor and scale the capabilities of research associates, enabling them to take ownership of coverage and outputs.
- Drive quality, relevance and timeliness of research deliverables.
- Build a strong internal research culture focused on accountability, analytical rigor and commercial relevance.
4. Corporate Access & Market Positioning:
- Organize and anchor corporate access events.
- Strengthen the firm's positioning as a trusted equities research partner with corporates and investors.
- Facilitate interactions between corporates, industry experts, and clients.
Education:
CA / CFA / MBA from a reputed institute.
Experience:
- 12 - 15 years of relevant experience in Equity Research / Capital Markets, preferably with strong Midcap sector exposure.
- Demonstrated experience in client-facing research roles with institutional investors.
Core Competencies:
- Strong understanding of business models, financial statements, accounting, and taxation.
- Advanced financial modelling and valuation skills.
- Ability to simplify complex sector developments into clear investment narratives.
- Strong decision-making and relationship management capabilities.
