ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Position Overview:
- The Finance Systems Manager will support and shape the transformation of finance processes and systems across shared services and broader global finance operations. the role is responsible for defining and delivering high-impact process improvements, system enhancements, optimisation, and automation initiatives across key finance areas.
- The role will be responsible for driving end-to-end delivery of improvement initiatives within its scope, from process design through to system implementation, adoption, and performance tracking. It plays a key role in influencing the finance systems roadmap and ensuring alignment with global strategy, SDLC standards, controls, and governance requirements.
- While the role has operational and strategic responsibility, it remains hands-on, with direct involvement in requirements definition, solution design, systems configuration, testing, and issue resolution as needed to ensure successful delivery.
- The role will also build and manage a small high-performing team primarily responsible for operational support for global finance system users along with supporting the Finance Systems Architect with strategic project delivery.
Major Responsibilities:
Transformation Strategy & Roadmap
- Identify opportunities for standardisation, automation, and scalability across finance processes and systems.
- Develop business cases and prioritise initiatives based on value, risk, and strategic alignment.
- Partner with senior stakeholders to align transformation objectives with broader organisational goals.
Process Improvement & Transformation Delivery
- Lead the design and delivery of process and system improvements across shared service centre finance processes (e.g., P2P, O2C, R2R).
- Translate business requirements into effective process and system solutions, aligned to global standards.
- Identify and deliver automation and efficiency opportunities (e.g., workflows, reporting, integrations).
- Support end-to-end delivery of initiatives within scope, from requirements through to implementation and stabilisation.
Systems Delivery & SDLC Alignment
- Ensure all system changes and enhancements delivered within improvement initiatives adhere to global SDLC standards and governance requirements.
- Contribute to systems configuration activities to deliver and optimise solutions.
- Work closely with IT and systems teams to support requirements definition, functional design, testing, and release activities.
- Contribute to high-quality documentation, testing, and controls across all changes.
- Support prioritisation and coordination of changes within the broader systems roadmap.
Operational Support & Continuous Improvement
- Oversee day-to-day support for finance systems within the team, ensuring timely resolution of user issues.
- Act as an escalation point for complex queries and system-related issues.
- Drive continuous improvement in system usability, training, and support processes.
- Ensure effective communication of system changes and enhancements to end users.
- Ensure high-quality documentation is maintained through continuous improvement.
Team Leadership & Development
- Manage and coach a small team of finance systems analysts, balancing project delivery and BAU support.
- Set clear priorities and ensure effective workload management.
- Develop team capability in process improvement, systems configuration, and stakeholder engagement.
- Support the growth and evolution of the team as demand increases.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with Finance, IT, and Shared Services stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver improvements.
- Provide clear updates on initiative progress, risks, and outcomes to relevant stakeholders.
- Support alignment with global standards, governance, and transformation objectives.
Data, Reporting & Performance Tracking
- Define and track KPIs related to process efficiency, system performance, and improvement initiatives.
- Support development of reporting and analytics capabilities within finance systems.
- Enable scalable, repeatable reporting solutions for finance users.
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field; professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA) preferred.
- 7+ years' experience in finance systems, ERP, or finance transformation roles.
- Experience working with SAP ERP systems (SAP Business ByDesign preferred; Concur desirable. Oracle EPM/Hyperion Cloud desirable).
- Proven experience delivering process improvements and system enhancements within defined project scopes.
- Strong understanding of core finance processes (P2P, O2C, R2R) and associated controls.
- Experience supporting or working within shared service centre environments preferred.
- Prior experience mentoring or supervising junior team members.
