Position Summary:

- To ensure the timely production of accurate monthly and yearly reporting to key stakeholders including local partners, global head office and other regulatory authorities.


- Perform accounting tasks related to the efficient maintenance and processing of significant accounting transactions.


- The success of the position is integral to the Finance team in achieving its objectives. The position will also require various ad hoc administrative duties to be performed across the business, at the request of the key stakeholders and necessary to maintain the daily business function.


- The role will report to Group Financial Accounting Manager and work closely with Group/ regional finance teams, LCN/ SSC functional leaders.


Key accountabilities:

Financial-General Ledger


- Compiles and reviews monthly control statements and trial balances for India (INR) and consolidated

- Responsible for preparing and posting monthly journals (eg accruals, intercompany allocations, recharges, occupancy, etc) and general journals as required


- Maintenance of the fixed assets register and associated capital expenditure reporting - including additions, disposals, depreciation runs and reconciliation to general ledger


- Preparation of monthly reconciliations and associated follow up of reconciling items to ensure reconciliations are accurate, tidy and complete on a timely basis

- Responsible for processing and reviewing recharges from global offices including processing monthly entries, challenging the information provided and completion of associated reconciliations


- Responsible for all intercompany accounting, settlements, entries and reconciliations

External Regulatory Reporting (including ITD):


- Preparation and lodgment of GST


- Preparation and submission of Annual returns on Foreign Liabilities and Assets with the RBI

- Preparation and filling of Annual Returns in Form MGT-7 with MCA


- Assistance in preparing annual transfer pricing documentation as required under Section 92D of the Income-tax Act, 1961 read with Rule 10D of the Income Tax Rules, 1962. This includes the following

- Examine and Preparation of Monthly withholding tax summary


- Prepare & Submit quarterly returns and generate form 16A


- Preparation of Quarterly & Annual tax returns

Treasury:


- Preparation of cash flow forecast for India entity

- Daily cash management of entity accounts


- Reconciliation of bank statements and credit cards including operational liaison with bank provider

Payroll:


- Strong knowledge and process end to end payroll processing for Indian employees


- Work closely with HR to ensure employee records are maintained in Timesheet system

- Support compliance with relevant legislation and regulations (eg: EPF, ESI, PT, etc.)


- Assist with month-end processes

- Assist with year-end processes such as payment summary reconciliations and issue payment summary to staff on timely manner


- Assist with payroll queries from employees

Other analysis:


- Preparation of monthly expenditure review and analysis for various budget owners to enable them to make informed decisions on budget allocations

- Responsible for preparation and review of professional development, event and entertainment expenditure including liaising with event organisers and Office managers / executive assistants to ensure reporting needs and annual budget requirements are met


Year-End Accounting:

- Prepare all necessary reconciliations for year end audit and follow up on all financial accounting related questions from our auditors


- Preparation of statutory accounts and cashflow for Indian entity

- Assist/support our external tax firm with preparation of India tax entries and returns


Special Projects:

- Document procedures


- Assist with preparation of annual budgets (August-October)

- Assist with new ERP / GL implementation and testing as required


The ideal candidate (describe background what you are looking for):

- Minimum 5 year experience in accounting or finance related disciplines


- Professional services background

- Strong knowledge of Accounting principles, practices and procedures


- Proficient in Excel and prior experience with an ERP system

- Curiosity and interest in performance improvement and project management


- Experience with online expense management systems

- High attention to detail and responsiveness to customer queries


Qualifications:

- Undergraduate/PG degree in Finance or Commerce related discipline


- Strong preference for an accounting designation or interested in pursuing a recognized accounting designation (CA, CMA, CPA)
