The Lead-PMO SCM will be responsible for continuously scanning the macro-economic environment and supply-side ecosystem for strategic procurement of items such as Non-ferrous & ferrous items, cement, commodities, capital items, technology related procurement, etc. and global logistics providing strategic insights to the SCM team to enable effective decision-making and competitive procurement & award of services. The role focuses on leveraging data, technology, and analytics to analyse market trends, commodity price movements, and supplier landscapes, driving procurement strategies that enhance cost-effectiveness, efficiency, and value creation for L&T's large-scale procurements. Key Responsibilities: - Drive analytics and insights on price movements and market intelligence for strategic procurement of items such as non-ferrous & ferrous items, cement, commodities, capital items, technology related procurement, etc. and global logistics to enable the SCM Head to make informed decisions. - Analyze macroeconomic and commodity-specific trends to provide actionable insights to the SCM Head. - Monitor global and regional market dynamics, including metal prices, supplier landscapes, and geopolitical factors. - Constantly track price levels and movements of raw materials such as iron ore, coal, steel scrap, billets, and various international price indices to aid sourcing strategies and price discovery. - Conduct commodity-level research to identify potential risks, price volatilities, and supply-demand gaps, staying updated on developments in commodity markets to assess risks and opportunities. - Scan and identify resourceful suppliers in both domestic and low-cost countries. - Develop strategies for "when-to-buy" and "from-where-to-buy" decisions, leveraging dynamic price trends. - Support the SCM team with robust market intelligence to strengthen supplier negotiations and optimize procurement strategies. - Evaluate and recommend sourcing opportunities and diversification of the supplier base. - Provide periodic reports and dashboards on commodity performance, procurement metrics, and macro trends. - Analyze and provide information on price trends, new technologies/materials, logistics, statutory regulations on taxes/duties, and forecast their impact on prices. Educational Qualifications and Experience: - BE/B-Tech or equivalent from a premier university; MBA or Master's in SCM/Materials Management/Logistics and Analytics preferred. - Proven experience of around 15 years, including at least 5 years in a leadership role in SCM Analytics within a reputed infrastructure, construction, manufacturing organization, or management consultancy firm. - Expert knowledge of analytics on diverse commodities and raw materials - Familiarity with global sourcing networks, including regions like China, Europe, and South America. - Strong expertise in data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau, and analytics platforms. - Proficiency in statistical tools and programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL; certifications in these tools are desirable. - Proven track record of applying predictive analytics to drive insights. - Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
