About the role : We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced agriculture insurance underwriter with knowledge of quality underwriting and client management to join our agriculture insurance department in Hyderabad. The Department is headed by a Senior Vice President and Chief Underwriter. In this role, you will be responsible for pricing, costing, and underwriting complex agriculture insurance business including primary market tendering business and will be working closely with clients and internal cross functional team to strengthen the company's position in the market. Key responsibilities: - Responsible for high quality underwriting, costing & pricing for Indian agriculture insurance business in adherence to company's underwriting guidelines and best practices. - Responsible for Data analytics, data management and processing - Find out the solutions approach to bridge data gaps in pricing of agriculture insurance policies. - Responsible of collating pricing & claims data and presenting it for company's business planning and execution - Key role in portfolio control and management - Helping team in developing solutions to agriculture insurance business - Helping team in providing statistical & actuarial solutions for pricing & costing for the company - To build and maintain client's relationship and service to the clients. - Knowledge of the MPCI program and the applicable underwriting rules and procedures. - Ability to learn and understand what information is needed to process insurance policies. - Ability to understand printed policy information, such as manuals, handbooks, and actuarial documents and to apply information to work tasks. - Prepare and analyse reports and policy forms. - Assisting in training sales team and Carry out other duties, as necessary. Experience: - Work experience in agriculture insurance is mandatory. - Looking for somebody who have minimum 10 to15 years of experience. - Minimum 5 years work experience in agriculture insurance underwriting/ pricing with knowledge of agriculture business. ( Suitable position will be considered depending on the experience). - Good in Data analytics, data management and processing - Proficient in pricing for agriculture schemes and claims management - Self-motivated and able to engage and work in a team. - Good at problem solving and ready to take on new initiatives. - Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail - Ability to work accurately and deliver to deadlines. - Effective communication skills and solid working relationship with various stakeholders in agriculture business - Able to adapt to demanding and changing market environment. - Proficient in using Microsoft products like excel and power point etc. Added Skills: - Knowledge and understanding of emerging technologies in agriculture insurance and/or crop monitoring is an advantage. - Understanding and coding skill for MATLAB, R, and similar software tools & languages - is an advantage.
