- The role requires strong analytical and operational capabilities, deep hands-on experience in electronics / PCBA / motor assembly processes, and the ability to drive daily performance while also focusing on continuous improvement, benchmarking, cost reduction, and data-driven decision-making.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Business & P&L Ownership

- Own cell-level revenue delivery (~USD 30M per year) covering Motors + PCBA.

- Track and control manufacturing cost drivers: material usage, manpower, machine cost, consumables, energy.

- Drive cost-per-unit reduction initiatives through yield improvement and process optimization.

- Deliver contribution margins as per plant P&L expectations.

- Identify and eliminate cost leakages (rework, scrap, tooling mismatch, idle time, overtime).

- Daily Production Execution

- Deliver daily/weekly output for all SKUs in motors + PCBA categories.

- Manage cell takt time, cycle time, throughput and adherence to shift plans.

- Ensure WIP control, FIFO, material flow and inventory discipline.

- Manage sub-assemblies, testing, final assembly and packing operations.

Process Excellence & Efficiency Improvement:

- Implement Lean tools: SMED, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, Line Balancing, 5S.

- Reduce changeover time, optimize workstation layout and improve ergonomics.

- Improve OEE (availability, performance, quality) of machines within the cell.

- Benchmark processes against industry best practices and competitor standards.

Quality Excellence:

- Ensure compliance to WI, SOP, Control Plan, torque standards, soldering standards and IPC-A-610.

- Drive FPY improvement, reduce DPMO, scrap and rework cost.

- Conduct RCA for quality issues using 8D/5-Why/Fishbone analysis.

- Ensure containment, corrective and preventive actions are implemented promptly.

Cost Optimization:

- Optimize tool & fixture usage, reduce consumable wastage and control indirect material usage.

- Implement VA/VE ideas and collaborate with sourcing for alternate parts.

- Track rework cost, scrap cost and develop reduction plans.

Manpower Management:

- Manage 40-80 operators, line leaders and technicians.

- Conduct shift planning, skill-based deployment and cross-training.

- Drive performance discipline, attendance, shift adherence and operator productivity.

- Build skill matrices and ensure operator upskilling for critical stations.

NPI & Engineering Coordination:

- Support NPI builds, pilot runs, engineering trials and PPAP.

- Ensure new product documentation & training is done before ramp-up.

- Validate new fixtures, jigs, workstation designs and test methods.

Supply Chain & Planning Coordination:

- Coordinate with planning for material availability and daily build schedules.

- Raise material shortage alerts in advance to prevent line stoppages.

- Ensure accurate material consumption reporting and traceability.

Safety, Compliance & Shop-Floor Governance:

- Ensure 100% compliance to safety rules, PPE, ESD norms, and equipment handling guidelines.

- Conduct safety toolbox talks, risk assessments and hazard elimination activities.

- Maintain clean, safe, audit-ready workstations.

10. Reporting & Data Analytics:

Prepare daily/weekly dashboards covering:

- Output vs Target

- OEE

- FPY / Rejection / Rework

- Manpower Productivity

- Material Loss & Cost Indicators

- Downtime Analysis

- Present performance updates to Production Manager / GM Ops.

REQUIREMENTS:

Technical Skills

- Hands-on knowledge of PCBA assembly, motor assembly, soldering, testing and line balancing.

- Understanding of BOM, routing, takt time, cycle optimization and lean principles.

- Familiarity with IPC standards, work instructions and quality controls.

- Understanding of basic financials: unit cost, contribution margin, costing structure.

Operational Skills:

- Ability to manage high-output production in multi-shift environments.

- Strong team management and shop-floor leadership skills.

- Experience running continuous improvement programs.

Soft Skills:
