Location: Bangalore Reporting To: CXO / Founders Role Overview: The Business Head Business Loans will be responsible for end-to-end ownership of the business loans vertical. This includes product strategy, P&L ownership, customer acquisition, credit and risk control, partnerships, and compliance. The role demands a strong understanding of unsecured and secured lending products, digital lending, and NBFC operations. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Ownership & P&L Management: - Define and execute the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Business Loans vertical. - Own the P&L; manage top-line growth, cost efficiency, and profitability. - Monitor portfolio performance, delinquency, and return metrics. Product & Market Development: - Design loan products tailored for MSMEs, SMEs, professionals, and other B2B segments. - Continuously improve the offering based on market feedback, credit performance, and competitor benchmarking. - Collaborate with tech/product teams to digitize journeys and ensure seamless user experiences. Sales & Channel Growth: - Drive customer acquisition through both digital and partnership-led channels. - Build distribution capabilities (DSAs, fintech partnerships, aggregators, NBFC co-lending, etc.) - Expand market reach and geographical penetration. Credit, Risk & Compliance: - Define underwriting policies in collaboration with the credit and risk teams. - Maintain portfolio quality with robust risk management practices. - Ensure regulatory and policy compliance (RBI norms, KYC/AML, etc.) Team Leadership & Cross-functional Collaboration: - Build and manage high-performing cross-functional teams (sales, product, ops, credit). - Coordinate with data science, technology, legal, and operations teams for execution. - Represent the business line in internal forums and leadership reviews. Qualifications & Skills: - MBA from a Tier 1/Tier 2 institute or equivalent qualification. - 12 to 15 years of experience in lending, especially business/MSME loans. - Proven track record of scaling business lines in fintechs, banks, or NBFCs. - Strong analytical mindset with understanding of credit and financial metrics. - Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. - Familiarity with digital lending platforms, APIs, and data-driven underwriting is a plus. Preferred Experience: - Experience in launching new credit products. - Deep understanding of customer behavior in small business lending. - Exposure to co-lending or partnership-based loan models. - Hands-on experience with tools like LOS, LMS, CRM, and risk engines.
