The Ministry of Defence in India has laid out an expansive plan for modernization of obsolete equipment through the long-term perspective plans, capability plans, capability roadmaps and capital acquisition plans. The ADS practice has a well-established track record of advising government as well as most of the leading global and Indian original equipment manufacturers and other members of the A&D supply chain. We have a well-defined and robust approach to support our clients effectively across a spectrum of projects in business performance services, transaction services and tax and regulatory services including offset advisory. We have an extensive team of specialists comprising policy experts, personnel who were formerly with the Indian armed forces, defence procurement and programme development along with subject matter experts from ADS manufacturing who have previously worked with R&D organisations to assist clients and provide comprehensive services from strategy formulation to execution. Our client list includes the Ministry of Defence (MoD), defence corridors, both public and private sector defence companies, and other relevant organisations. Role Overview: We are seeking a seasoned Consulting Manager to lead strategic engagements in the Aerospace, Defence, and Space sectors within our Government and Public Sector (GPS) practice. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in strategy consulting, a nuanced understanding of public sector dynamics, and hands-on experience working with or within government organizations. Prior experience in a Big 4 consulting firm or the Armed Forces is highly desirable. Key Responsibilities: - Lead and manage consulting projects for central and state government clients in Aerospace, Defence, and Space domains. - Develop strategic roadmaps, policy frameworks, and implementation plans aligned with national priorities and client objectives. - Engage with senior stakeholders across ministries, defence PSUs, and regulatory bodies to drive impactful outcomes. - Conduct sectoral research, benchmarking, and data-driven analysis to support decision-making. - Prepare high-quality deliverables including strategy documents, presentations, and proposals. - Mentor junior team members and contribute to practice development initiatives. - Support business development through proposal writing, client pitches, and relationship building. Required Qualifications: - B.Tech / M.Tech / MBA from a reputed institution. - 10-14 years of experience in strategy consulting, preferably in Aerospace, Defence, or Space sectors. - Experience working with government clients or in public sector transformation projects. - Prior experience in a Big 4 consulting firm or service in the Armed Forces is a strong advantage. - Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills. - Ability to work in high-pressure environments and manage multiple priorities. Preferred Skills: - Familiarity with defence procurement processes, space policy, and government mission-mode programs. - Understanding of emerging technologies in aerospace and defence (e.g., AI, UAVs, satellite systems). - Exposure to working with defence PSUs, DRDO, ISRO, or Ministry of Defence. - Strong project management and team leadership capabilities.
