Role summary:
We are hiring a Director of Generative AI to be the technical face of our GenAI practice with customers.
You will shape and sell GenAI solutions to enterprise clients, translating business problems into sound architectures, roadmaps and delivery plans.
This is a deeply technical, customer-facing leadership role.
You do not need to write production code, but you must be able to go whiteboard-to-whiteboard with a client's chief architect, challenge a design, and earn the trust of both CXOs and engineering teams.
Key responsibilities:
Customer solutioning and pre-sales:
- Lead discovery with client executives and technical teams to identify high-value GenAI use cases and qualify feasibility, data readiness and ROI.
- Design end-to-end solution architectures: model selection, RAG and retrieval strategy, agentic workflows, integration with enterprise data platforms, security and governance.
- Own the technical narrative in proposals, SOWs and orals: solution approach, estimates, staffing, risks and assumptions.
- Run executive workshops, envisioning sessions and proof-of-concept scoping; present to CIO, CDO and CTO audiences.
- Act as a trusted advisor on build vs. buy, platform choices and model trade-offs.
Technical leadership:
- Set reference architectures, reusable accelerators and best practices for LLM applications, evaluation, guardrails and LLMOps.
- Review designs from delivery teams and step in on escalations where the technical approach is at risk.
- Stay current on the model and tooling landscape and turn it into clear points of view for clients and internal teams.
Delivery and growth:
- Provide technical oversight on GenAI engagements to make sure what was sold is what gets built, on time and in production.
- Grow accounts by identifying follow-on opportunities.
