The Group Strategy team works closely with the Bank and its subsidiaries to evaluate and execute strategic initiatives spanning areas of organic and inorganic growth. Organic initiatives include executing special internal projects, business planning process. Inorganic initiatives include evaluating and executing M&A, divestitures, equity investments, and other strategic transactions. Proposed role will be part of Group Strategy team and will be focused primarily on executing mandates critical for organic growth of the Bank. The candidate will be responsible for driving initiatives particularly for the Consumer Bank. This will span Branch Banking, Retail Liabilities & Priority Banking, and all Consumer Assets (mortgages, credit cards, personal loans, business loans, working capital for small businesses) Job Role - Collaborating with various internal stakeholders to design recommendations on a range of business issues and to implement finalised recommendations - Performing and synthesizing comprehensive and in-depth industry (Indian and Global) and peer-benchmarking to identify areas for growing incomes and for improving efficiencies - Working with business teams to formulate strategy and solutions to meet objectives in areas identified above and/or specific business objectives. This may include areas such as new market entry, new products, new business segments, ramping up of existing businesses, digital transformation, improving productivity, optimizing business processes to improve operational business capabilities, improving efficiencies etc. - Designing recommendations based on rigorous, fact based, quantitative and qualitative analysis and presenting the same to senior management teams in relevant areas of the Group to obtain go-ahead on implementation - Designing implementation strategy and partnering with relevant functions of the organization to ensure deployment - Periodic monitoring to ensure that the objectives are achieved - Assisting in long term strategic planning (including annual business planning) for various business divisions - Preparing concise communication materials for internal stakeholders Exposure - Throughout the tenure of the role, the team member will gain exposure to senior leadership team of the Group and to strategic priorities across the Group thereby helping develop an acumen in corporate strategy. - Given the relatively small team size, the team member will be expected to assume significant responsibilities and independently lead projects - from shaping to successful implementation - The team member will be expected to possess and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with colleagues at all levels in a peer-like way, and achieve goals without direct control over resources Skill requirements - MBA / CA with about 10 - 14 yrs of experience post MBA / CA - Outstanding record of academic achievement with excellent communication skills - MBA from premier institutes are encouraged to evaluate this opportunity - Diverse problem solving experience and experience with a financial services sector in consulting role is essential, preferably in Consumer Bank - Superior analytical and problem solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor, attention to detail and ability to carry out sophisticated financial modelling - Ability to synthesize data into meaningful conclusions and recommendations - Strong work ethic, ability to proactively manage multiple high priority projects and work effectively in teams - Temperament to work in cross-functional teams and ability to interact and co-ordinate with other businesses, teams and individuals for project execution
