About the Role
We are looking for a highly analytical, ownership-driven Category Manager who can independently build, scale, and optimize a full product category across D2C, Amazon, and Retail channels. This role requires someone who can deep dive into data, identify gaps and loopholes, build strong processes, and take complete responsibility for the category's revenue, margins, and customer experience.
You will own the category end-to-end from sourcing to selling.
Key Responsibilities
1. Category Leadership & Ownership
- Full ownership of the product category with P&L responsibility (revenue, margins, ROI).
- Build and execute a 12-month category strategy, roadmap, and GTM plans.
- Identify loopholes in current processes and build strong systems to fix them.
- Drive competitive analysis, market research, and trend forecasting.
2. Growth & Channel Expansion
- Drive multi-channel growth across D2C Website, Amazon & Marketplaces, Retail Stores
- Launch new products, improve depth, variants, and category width based on insights.
- Own category merchandising for all platforms.
3. Product & Sourcing Management
- Work closely with sourcing and product teams to Identify new suppliers, Improve cost efficiencies, Ensure quality standards, Manage timelines and vendor performance, Oversee pricing, discounting, and unit economics.
4. Analytics & Performance Management
- Run end-to-end category analytics, including Revenue, margins, contribution, Inventory levels, stock turns, velocity, Returns, cancellations, repeat rates, Contribution improvement
- Build dashboards, reports, and deep dives to drive decisions.
5. Inventory, Forecasting & Demand Planning
- Lead demand planning and forecasting in partnership with supply chain.
- Manage purchase planning, stock availability, and store replenishment.
- Reduce stock-outs, overstocking, and ensure healthy inventory turns.
6. Customer Experience
- Own category-level customer experience metrics, Ratings, reviews, returns reasons, Product quality insights, NPS for the category
- Work closely with QC, CS, and product teams to drive improvements.
7. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Strong coordination with Performance marketing, Retention & CRM, Brand & Creative, Retail operations, Product & Sourcing teams
- Align on growth campaigns, launches, promotions, and pricing strategy.
What We're Looking For
- 2-6 years of experience in Category Management, Merchandising, Business Strategy, Buying, or multi channel growth roles.
- Strong analytical skills able to deep dive and solve problems using data.
- High ownership mindset treats category like an independent business.
- Ability to identify inefficiencies and operational loopholes and build robust processes.
- Comfort with fast-paced, high-growth, high-accountability environments.
- Experience handling end-to-end category lifecycle, sourcing to selling is a big plus.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and vendor management skills.
