Role Overview:

KL Deemed to be University is seeking a distinguished academic leader for the position of Dean - College of Agriculture. The ideal candidate should possess strong academic and administrative expertise, exposure to accreditation frameworks, and a proven track record in higher education leadership within agricultural sciences.

Candidates with a Ph.D. in Horticulture, Genetics & Plant Breeding, or Agronomy will be preferred. The role requires strategic leadership in academics, research, institutional development, faculty management, and regulatory compliance.

Proficiency in Telugu is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

Academic & Institutional Leadership:

- Lead the academic, administrative, and strategic operations of the College of Agriculture.

- Drive curriculum development, research initiatives, innovation, and academic excellence.

- Promote interdisciplinary research, industry collaborations, and experiential learning programs.

- Strengthen student outcomes, placements, and research productivity.

Accreditation & Regulatory Compliance:

- Lead accreditation initiatives related to NAAC, ICAR, NBA, UGC, and other statutory bodies.

- Ensure timely preparation of AQAR, SSR, compliance reports, and institutional documentation.

- Coordinate with regulatory and accreditation agencies during audits and inspections.

Faculty & Academic Administration:

- Lead faculty recruitment, mentoring, performance evaluation, and academic development.

- Foster a research-driven and student-centric academic culture.

- Support departmental planning, academic scheduling, and institutional quality initiatives.

Strategic Planning & Stakeholder Engagement:

- Collaborate with university leadership on strategic growth, rankings, research expansion, and institutional partnerships.

- Represent the institution in academic forums, conferences, and regulatory interactions.

- Build strong relationships with industry, government agencies, and research organizations.

Student & Community Development:

- Encourage outreach programs, rural engagement, extension activities, and agri-innovation initiatives.

- Promote entrepreneurship, sustainability, and modern agricultural practices among students.

Key Requirements:

- 15+ years of experience in academics and institutional leadership.

- Strong exposure to NAAC, ICAR, NBA, UGC accreditation processes.

- Ph.D. in Horticulture / Genetics & Plant Breeding / Agronomy (mandatory/preferred as per role fit).

- Proven experience in academic administration and faculty leadership.

- Strong communication, governance, and stakeholder management skills.

- Telugu language proficiency is mandatory.
