We are looking for an intellectually curious and highly driven Equity Research Analyst to research listed companies across international markets, primarily the US, Europe and Asia.

This role is ideal for someone at the beginning of their career who has a genuine passion for investing, enjoys understanding businesses in depth and wants to develop into a high-quality global equity research professional.

You will work directly with an experienced investor and get exposure to companies across sectors, geographies and market capitalisations. This is not a role for someone whose interest in markets is limited to tracking stock prices or short-term trading. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys reading about companies, studying industries, analysing financial statements and developing independent investment views.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct detailed research on companies assigned for evaluation.

- Understand each company's business model, competitive position, industry structure, growth drivers and key risks.

- Analyse annual reports, regulatory filings, earnings transcripts, investor presentations and industry data.

- Review historical financial performance and prepare forward-looking revenue, margin, cash-flow and valuation estimates.

- Identify the key assumptions that must hold true for an investment thesis to work.

- Prepare clear and concise investment notes with a specific conclusion - not merely a compilation of publicly available information.

- Track quarterly results, management commentary, competitive developments and other events affecting portfolio and watchlist companies.

- Maintain a structured repository for all companies being tracked, including investment thesis, key financial and operating metrics, valuation, catalysts, risks, conditions for buying/exiting, and invalidation triggers.

- Use tools such as ChatGPT and Claude to accelerate research, organise information and test hypotheses.

- Independently verify AI-generated information against credible primary sources such as company filings, earnings transcripts and regulatory disclosures.

- Gradually develop independent stock ideas and present them for discussion.

What We Are Looking For:

- 0 - 2 years of work experience; strong fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

- An excellent academic record from a highly regarded institution.

- Strong analytical ability and the intellectual curiosity to understand unfamiliar companies and industries quickly.

- Genuine, demonstrable interest in equity investing and building a long-term career in investment research.

- Ability to read and interpret financial statements.

- Strong written communication and the ability to explain a complex business in simple, precise language.

- Comfort with Excel or Google Sheets and basic financial modelling.

- Ability to use ChatGPT, Claude or similar AI tools thoughtfully and efficiently.

- High attention to detail and a disciplined approach to documenting research.

- Ability to work independently and reliably in a fully remote environment.

- Willingness to receive direct feedback, challenge assumptions and revise conclusions when the evidence changes.

Evidence of Genuine Interest:

We would especially like to hear from candidates who can demonstrate their interest through one or more of the following:

- A personal portfolio or watchlist maintained over time.

- Original company research or investment write-ups.

- An investing blog, newsletter or social-media account.

- Participation in investment clubs or research competitions.

- The ability to discuss both a successful investment idea and an investment thesis that proved wrong.
