
The Chief of Flight Safety is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of safety across all flight operations by implementing regulatory requirements, monitoring safety performance, and promoting a strong safety culture within the organization.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with DGCA and company safety regulations across all operational areas.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Safety Management System (SMS) in line with DGCA requirements.
- Monitor and analyse safety data, FDR/CVR Records , PFMC Records, incident reports, and hazard reports to identify trends and mitigate risks.
- Conduct internal safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to ensure continuous compliance and improvement.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and safety occurrences, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate with flight operations, engineering, ground handling, and other departments to ensure effective safety practices.
- Promote a positive safety culture through awareness programs, training sessions, and safety communications.
- Maintain and update safety documentation, Revision of Flight Safety manuals, and records as per regulatory standards.
- Prepare and submit mandatory safety reports / Audit findings, - reply to regulatory authorities within stipulated timelines.
- Track and ensure closure of corrective actions and safety recommendations.
- Support emergency response planning and crisis management activities, including drills and simulations.
- Conduct safety risk assessments for new operations, routes, or procedures.
- Ensure proper reporting and follow-up of hazards and near-miss events.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and other agencies during audits and inspections.
Preferred candidates:
- A Retired Aeronautical Engineer experienced in Flight Safety and Compliance or Retired Pilot in Command.
