Job Description:
Overall Function:
Support channel partnerships and commodity sales to drive market expansion and customer outcomes. Build relationships, execute sales activities, learn industry dynamics, and contribute to structured performance tracking, training, and partner engagement.
Major Responsibilities:
1) Sales Support & Revenue Contribution:
- Assist in achieving a >40% project hit rate (convert customer projects into sales).
- Identify opportunities within assigned accounts; engage customers alongside senior team members.
- Track activities via CRM; gather customer insights and forecast accurately.
- Learn and apply Kemin sales processes, disciplines, and best practices.
- Support budget/expense management for profitability; aid customer/channel retention and new business discovery.
2) Channel Partner Engagement & Expansion:
- Support partners through performance monitoring and scorecard-based tracking.
- Assist in onboarding/training new channel partners aligned to Kemin goals.
- Coordinate customer engagement activities, trade shows, and industry events.
- Work cross-functionally to expand customer base and improve market penetration.
3) Commodity Sales & Market Insights:
- Develop understanding of commodity selling, pricing models, and market trends.
- Gather market intelligence; monitor commodity dynamics; flag growth opportunities.
- Support pricing strategies that balance competitiveness with business objectives.
4) Competitive Analysis & Continuous Learning:
- Capture competitor intel (pricing, technical specs, positioning) and report regularly.
- Stay current on food industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies.
- Build expertise in B2B sales, commodity solutions, and technical applications through training.
In collaboration with Leadership, contribute towards achieving the units leading and lagging indicators. Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on business needs.
Core Competencies / Qualifications:
- Degree in Food Science, Engineering, or a technical field.
- 1-3 years in B2B sales / channel support / commodity markets (or strong internship experience).
- Interest in market development, sales execution, and relationship-building.
- Ability to learn commodity pricing, distributor engagement, and customer sales processes.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, sales forecasting, and productivity software.
- Fluent English; proficiency in one or more Asian languages (e.g., Hindi, Mandarin, Japanese) is advantageous.
Decision Making & Freedom to Act:
Matrix alignment to the Regional Sales Manager. Hands-on role with meaningful autonomy and flexibility to exceed expectations within defined objectives.
Working Conditions:
Remote role; ~50% travel for customer and partner engagements. Standard 48 hours/week with flexibility required for a customer-facing function.
