Location: Noida (Sector 64) Position Overview: The Buyer - Apparel will be responsible for developing and executing buying strategies that align with the brand's goals, ensuring timely product availability, optimal inventory levels, and strong sell-through. This role requires close collaboration with sourcing, production, and merchandising teams, with a strong focus on SIS (Shop-in-Shop) performance. Roles and Responsibilities: 1. AOP Planning & Achievement: a. Collaborate in setting the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and ensure that buying activities are aligned with business goals. b. Monitor performance metrics and adjust strategies to support AOP targets. 2. Buying & Range Development: a. Drive seasonal buying cycles aligned with consumer demand and brand positioning. b. Ensure range architecture is well-balanced across categories, price points, and styles. c. Identify opportunities for repeat buys based on sell-through performance. 3. Coordination with Cross-Functional Teams: a. Work closely with production merchants, sourcing, and production teams to ensure timely availability of products. b. Track production timelines and ensure delivery adherence to avoid stockouts or delays. 4. Purchase & Order Management: a. Issue timely purchase orders to the sourcing team ensuring accuracy in specs, quantities, pricing, and timelines. b. Maintain strong follow-ups with vendors/sourcing partners for timely deliveries. 5. Cost & Pricing Strategy: a. Analyze and confirm cost prices, set MRP, and define discounts or promotional pricing. b. Evaluate margins to meet financial targets and profitability benchmarks. 6. Inventory & Stock Control: a. Maintain optimal inventory levels by tracking sell-throughs and initiating replenishments or markdowns. b. Avoid overbuying or understocking by forecasting demand accurately. Sell-Through Monitoring: c. Track product performance at SIS counters and other retail formats. d. Act quickly on slow-moving styles and capitalize on fast movers. 7. Market & Trend Analysis: a. Conduct regular market mapping and competitor analysis to stay updated with trends and pricing strategies. b. Use insights to fine-tune the product mix and ensure competitive edge. 8. Time Management & Accuracy: a. Adhere strictly to buying calendars and ensure all actions are taken within the required timelines. b. Uphold accuracy in product specs, costing, and documentation. Qualifications: 1. Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Retail Management, Business Administration, or related field (MBA preferred). 2. 9+ years of experience in apparel buying, with strong exposure to SIS (Shop-in-Shop) formats. 3. Proven track record in range planning, vendor management, and category performance analysis. 4. Strong analytical and numerical skills; proficiency in Excel and merchandising tools/software. 5. Deep understanding of garment costing, MRP strategy, and pricing models. 6. Excellent coordination and communication skills to work cross-functionally with production, sourcing, and sales teams. 7. Knowledge of market trends, consumer behavior, and retail analytics. 8. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced retail environment.
