Role Overview:

We are looking for a Senior Hardware Product Manager to lead the end-to-end hardware product strategy and roadmap for Kazam's EV charging portfolio. This role will work closely with the CEO and senior engineering leadership to translate customer and market requirements into scalable hardware products. The role will own product strategy, roadmap, product requirements, NPD execution, product lifecycle management, vendor ecosystem, and field performance. The ideal candidate should have strong experience across hardware product management, power electronics, EV charging and IoT, with the ability to work effectively with senior engineering leaders, business stakeholders, vendors, and C-suite executives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Product Strategy & Roadmap:

- Define and own the end-to-end hardware product strategy and roadmap for Kazam's EV charging portfolio.

- Identify market opportunities, customer pain points, technology trends, and competitive gaps to define future products.

- Translate B2B fleet operator requirements, consumer feedback, and market insights into clear product priorities.

2. Product Definition & NPD:

- Own product requirements and develop detailed PRDs, product specifications, and business requirements.

- Partner closely with the Director - Hardware Engineering, who leads the engineering division, to define product specifications across:

1. Power electronics

2. Firmware

3. Mechanical design and enclosures

4. Safety and protection systems

5. Connectivity and cloud protocols

6. Regulatory and certification requirements

- Drive products from concept validation - development - testing & validation - launch - field improvements.

- Ensure products meet defined requirements for performance, reliability, quality, cost, and time-to-market.

3. Product Development & Governance:

- Establish and standardize hardware product development processes and workflows across product, hardware, firmware, and mechanical teams.

- Drive full adoption and effective utilization of Teamcenter PLM across relevant product development tracks.

- Define clear project governance, milestones, ownership, dependencies, and decision-making mechanisms.

- Proactively identify project risks, resolve bottlenecks, and manage product, technical, cost, and timeline trade-offs with engineering leadership.

4. Product Quality, Compliance & Field Performance:

- Work with engineering and testing teams to ensure products meet required quality, safety, reliability, and regulatory standards.

- Manage relationships with key vendors, suppliers, certification bodies, and testing agencies.

- Drive continuous improvement based on field performance, customer feedback, warranty data, and product usage insights.

- Ensure product learnings are incorporated into future product releases and iterations.

5. Team & Resource Management:

- Identify product team headcount, tools, infrastructure, and capability gaps that may impact product delivery.

- Work with leadership to build the required product management organization and execution capacity.

- Mentor and develop second-line Product Managers, building strong product leadership and ownership.

- Foster accountability and collaboration across product, business, design, and engineering teams.

Key Requirements:

- 15+ years of experience in hardware product management, product development, or related roles.

- Strong experience in Power Electronics, EV Charging, Automotive, IoT, or connected hardware products.

- Proven experience owning products through the complete NPD/product lifecycle.

- Strong understanding of hardware architecture and product development across power electronics, firmware, mechanical systems, connectivity, testing, and certification.

- Experience working with PLM systems, preferably Teamcenter.

- Strong understanding of product quality, validation, certification, regulatory compliance, and supplier management.

- Experience working with senior engineering leadership and C-suite stakeholders.

- Strong business acumen with the ability to balance customer requirements, technical feasibility, product cost, quality, and time-to-market.

- Demonstrated experience building processes and leading cross-functional product teams.

- Strong stakeholder management, communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.

Preferred Background:

Candidates from EV charging, power electronics, automotive electronics, industrial automation, energy management, IoT, or connected hardware environments would be preferred.
