
We are looking for an experienced Head of Operations to lead the end-to-end manufacturing, quality, and new product development (NPD) functions.
The ideal candidate will have deep experience in the EMS or electronics industry and a proven track record of managing shop floor operations, ensuring production efficiency, and delivering high-quality output on time and at optimal cost.
Key Responsibilities:
Manufacturing & Shop Floor Management:
- Oversee daily plant operations to ensure smooth, on-time, and efficient manufacturing.
- Plan and execute production schedules in alignment with customer delivery timelines.
- Drive adherence to production targets, yield improvement, and productivity KPIs.
- Manage manpower allocation, line balancing, and workflow optimization on the shop floor.
- Ensure equipment uptime through preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
- Drive operational excellence using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Collaborate with planning, supply chain, and quality teams to eliminate production bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with management on budgeting, cost control, and profitability improvement initiatives.
Operations Leadership:
- Lead end-to-end operations across production, engineering, materials, and quality.
- Set and monitor operational KPIs across cost, quality, delivery, and safety parameters.
- Implement systems and processes for performance tracking and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and EHS norms.
- Responsible for the P & L for the Factory operations.
Quality & Process Excellence:
- Drive total quality management across incoming, in-process, and outgoing stages.
- Implement root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and continuous improvement programs.
- Build a culture of "first-time-right" manufacturing through training and process discipline.
- Ensure readiness for customer and third-party audits (ISO, IATF, Medical & Aerospace, etc.
New Product Development (NPD):
- Collaborate with design and R&D teams to ensure smooth handover from development to production.
- Oversee pilot runs, DFM validation, and ramp-up to volume manufacturing.
- Establish manufacturing processes for new products ensuring scalability and cost-effectiveness.
Supply Chain Coordination:
- Partner with sourcing and planning teams to ensure timely material availability.
- Monitor inventory levels, material flow, and vendor performance to prevent line stoppages.
- Support localization and supplier development initiatives for key components.
- Control the Part price and MOQ as per the costing parameters.
Team & Leadership:
- Lead and mentor production, engineering, and quality teams for high performance.
- Foster collaboration, accountability, and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Drive alignment between on-ground teams and organizational goals.
Requirements:
Education: B.E / B.Tech in Electronics Engineering (MBA preferred).
Experience:
- 15-20 years in operations and manufacturing leadership roles in EMS / Electronics / Consumer Electronics industries.
- Hands-on experience in managing shop floors, production lines, and plant operations.
- Strong understanding of process engineering, lean manufacturing, TPM, and Six Sigma.
- Exposure to quality systems (ISO, IATF, Medical & Aerospace, etc) and NPD lifecycle management.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with design, sourcing, and customer teams.
