What you'll do?
The Credit Diligence Expert is responsible for assessing the creditworthiness and impact potential of partner originators such as banks, MFIs, fintech lenders, and SACCOs. The role supports Kaleidofin's mission of expanding financial inclusion by ensuring that partner institutions meet credit standards and risk requirements before accessing funding through the company's credit platform.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Credit Due Diligence
- Conduct financial and operational due diligence on lending partners (MFIs, fintech lenders, banks, SACCOs).
- Assess portfolio quality, underwriting practices, and risk management frameworks.
- Evaluate financial statements, loan books, and credit policies.
- Prepare credit assessment reports and investment memos for internal approval.
2. Credit Risk Assessment
- Analyse borrower segments and portfolio performance indicators such as:
o Portfolio at Risk (PAR)
o Default and recovery rates
o Loan concentration risk
- Provide recommendations on credit limits, transaction structures, and risk mitigation.
3. Partner Evaluation and Onboarding
- Identify and evaluate potential lending partners aligned with Kaleidofin's financial inclusion goals.
- Conduct preliminary screening and alignment checks with internal risk policies.
- Support onboarding of approved partners onto the Ki Credit platform.
4. Financial Modelling & Transaction Structuring
- Develop financial models to evaluate:
o Structured finance transactions
o Bond issuances
o Portfolio securitization opportunities
- Work with investors and financial institutions to design scalable funding structures.
5. Portfolio Monitoring
- Monitor performance of funded partners and underlying loan portfolios.
- Conduct periodic reviews and risk monitoring.
- Flag early warning signals and recommend corrective measures.
6. Stakeholder Engagement
- Coordinate with:
o DFIs and investors
o Partner financial institutions
o Internal credit committees
- Present risk opinions and investment recommendations.
Who you need to be?
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting
- Experience -+Typically 1-5+ years depending on seniority in:
o Credit risk analysis
o Loan underwriting
o Structured finance
o Microfinance or fintech
o Investment banking or financial advisory
Preferred Certifications
- CFA
- CA / CPA
- MBA Finance
Key Skills
- Credit analysis and financial statement analysis
