Role Overview:

The Project Manager will assist with and manage projects for high-resolution Earth observation payloads, working with clients, advisors, senior management, and cross-functional engineering teams. The role supports planning, communication, execution, risks, scope, quality, and on-time delivery in a space-hardware environment.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Support day-to-day planning, execution, and tracking of space-borne and satellite-system projects.

- Maintain project-management tools, task tracking, schedules, and data visibility.

- Support project plans, milestone tracking, and escalation of potential delays/risks.

- Coordinate across cross-functional teams, with focus on QA/QC and Supply Chain.

- Organize technical-progress meetings, capture minutes, assign actions, and track closure.

- Maintain the Project Risk Register and mitigation actions.

- Coordinate with Operations for external testing and facility utilization.

- Coordinate internal teams and external vendors/partners on deliverables.

- Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Prepare project status updates, dashboards, and reports for senior management.

Qualifications:

- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Engineering.


- 5+ years of experience in project coordination or project management, preferably in aerospace or high-reliability hardware industries.


Preferred Candidate Will Have:

- Basic project-management principles, tools, and methodologies.

- MS Project, Jira, and Confluence familiarity.

- Cross-functional coordination across engineering, QA/QC, Supply Chain, and Operations.

- Foundational systems engineering knowledge: requirements, integration, testing, V&V.

- Ability to analyze project performance, budgets, and schedules.

- Strong organization, time management, communication, documentation, and follow-up skills.

- MS Office proficiency.

Good to Have:

- Space systems, satellite subsystems, or hardware-development exposure.

- Optical payload/subsystem knowledge including sensors, calibration, and AIT.

- Exposure to aerospace/space standards, testing, mission constraints, and organizations such as ISRO.

- Risk-management and project-tracking metrics.

- CAPM or equivalent project-management certification/coursework.

- Willingness to travel 5 - 10%.
