Position : Legal Associate
Location : Chennai
Qualification : LLB. from an accredited Indian University
Experience : 2 - 7 years from an NBFC / BFSI MNC or a reputed Indian Company
Key Responsibilities :
- To initiate legal action for recovery of bad debts in all the products through civil, DRT, Sarfaesi, Lok Adalat, 138 NI Act and criminal proceedings.
- To assist in defending cases filed against the Company in High Court, Civil, Criminal, and consumer courts and before the Banking Ombudsman.
- Reviewing all statutory compliance's like Provident Fund, Professional tax, ESIC compliance under Shops and Establishment Act.
- Completing contract formalities in accordance with contract management framework.
- Standardization of documents - Drafting, vetting and customizing of the agreement and documents/forms as specified by the Institution as to ensure enforce ability.
- Review of the agreement and documents/forms as specified to ensure compliance with RBI regulations and Companies.
- Negotiate out of court settlements with the borrowers and their counsels in high ticket/strategic Customers.
- Sending of MIS Report relating to legal matters within the time frame to the management for their review.
Competencies :
- Skills and Advisory. Candidates who had previously worked in any Bank or NBFC will be given preference.
- Have a solid understanding of contract law and related laws.
- Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
- Have strong analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Have the ability to work within a larger team under pressure with strict timelines.
