The candidate should have a demonstrated record of passion for empirical research and for answering hard questions with data.  - The Jr. Data Scientist will be responsible for developing solutions that leverage efficient algorithms for business problem solving.  - This individual will work closely with the solutioning team to identify, evaluate, design and implement statistical, machine learning, text analytics and other quantitative approaches for modeling on enterprise scale data and big data. In this process, the Jr. Data Scientist would enable increating commercial software tools.  The individual will have the opportunity to contribute directly to the features and capabilities deployed in solutions  Educational background and Experience :  - PhD or Master- s/ BE degree in any of the following disciplines: Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Science with Relevant experience in the field of Advanced Statistics, Machine Learning, Text Analytics, Operations Research, and Algorithms.  Ideal Profile:-  - Ability a play pivotal bridging role between data scientists, technology specialists, and the business /functional experts.  - Able to take responsibility for developing advanced predictive /prescriptive models, creating efficient algorithms for business problem solving, improving data quality using algorithms, define hypothesis analysis etc.  - Experience with industry scale data mining and/or text mining and Machine Learning solution.  - The candidate should also be proficient in converting the algorithmic proof of concepts into business requirement documents for product development.  - Innovative and strong analytical and algorithmic problem solvers   - The Data Scientist will develop statistical and machine learning models on distributed platforms such as Hadoop by using modern machine learning libraries such as SparkML, Shogun, Mahout OpenNLP, R and Python.  - Ensure execution of critical Advanced Analytical projects, including driving innovative implementation and insights derived from data.  - Excellent critical thinking skills, combined with the ability to presentcomplex analytical solutions to a non-technical audience.  - Comfort in manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources.  - Should be very good team player and able to provide technical and subject area guidance/directions to the team.  - The ideal candidate should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  - Experience in Oil & Gas, Chemical, Transportation, Utilities, Petrochemicals BFSI, and Retail, Healthcare is an added advantage.  Technical Skills:-  - Proficiency in R, Python, Matlab, SAS, Ruby or Scala or equivalent statistical analysis software  - Experience with industry scale data mining and/or text mining.  - Experience with capturing, managing, and processing Big Data (terabytes of data present in web logs, documents, etc).  - The candidate should also be proficient in converting the algorithmic proof of concepts into products.  - Experience with big data tools is an added advantage (e.g., Hadoop, HDFS, Cassandra, Storm)   - Familiarity with relational databases (SAP HANA, Oracle, MySQL) and non-relational databases like MongoDB or Hadoop, query tools (e.g. Hive or Pig) and tools for distributed computation (e.g. Spark).  Travel Involved : Based on need
