Position Overview
The Manager - Plant Learning & Development will lead the design and execution of comprehensive learning pathways for both blue collar and white collar employees at the plant. You will be responsible for establishing and managing a state-of-the-art Skill Development Centre envisioned as a hub for workforce capability building in alignment with the evolving business and technological demands of the New Energy Vehicle (NEV) automotive sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement tailored learning and development pathways for blue collar (shop floor, technical) and white collar (professional, managerial) workforce segments.
- Develop and manage a Skill Development Centre equipped with advanced infrastructure including digital labs, simulation tools, AR/VR, and hands-on workshops to build critical skills required for NEV manufacturing.
- Conduct thorough training needs assessments in collaboration with plant leadership and functional teams to identify skill gaps and emerging capability requirements.
- Lead the delivery of learning programs including onboarding, technical skills, safety & compliance training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Utilize modern learning technologies (LMS, e-learning authoring tools) and analytics to monitor learner engagement, training effectiveness, and measure ROI.
- Build partnerships with external training providers, technical institutes, and industry associations to supplement internal training capabilities.
- Drive change management efforts to cultivate a continuous learning culture that supports plant digitalization and sustainability goals.
- Manage training budgets, vendor relationships, and resource allocation for learning initiatives and Skill Development Centre operations.
- Prepare and present regular reports on learning outcomes and impact to senior leadership to inform strategic workforce capability development.
Required Skills & Experience- 12+ years of experience in Learning & Development roles within manufacturing or automotive/NEV industries.
- Proven expertise in designing and managing structured learning pathways across diverse workforce groups, including blue collar and white collar.
- Demonstrated experience in establishing Skill Development Centres or training academies with advanced learning technologies.
- Strong knowledge of instructional design, digital learning tools, blended learning methods, and adult learning principles.
- Proficiency in Learning Management Systems (LMS), e-learning platforms, and basic data analytics for measuring training impact.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and project management skills.
- Data-driven approach to assessing training effectiveness and continuous program improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Engineering, Education, or relevant disciplines; additional certifications in L&D or industrial training preferred.
