Reference Data - Team Leader Description : Investment Products and Funds Market Data and Analytics - Analyst - The Operations Analyst - Market Data Analytics (i-MDA) will be a member of the extended AWM Reference Data Operations team. The i-MDA team mission is to support the build-out and ongoing management of a centralized data repository for funds, instrument analytic and ESG data sourced from third party data vendors and internal sources. The Operations team is an active partner in data on-boarding, quality management, vendor management, data distribution and data governance activities. - The operations business analyst will analyze business requirements to understand the business needs and determine how to best functionally fulfill those needs. - The member will provide input into design, implementation, and testing phases of Market Data analytics platform. The business analyst will support consumers onboarding to MDA platform by advising them on the product and data coverage . - Key responsibilities also include monitoring and researching alerts identified by the MDA Data quality management functions, identifying exceptions, coordinating issue resolution with vendors, and building expertise to serve as an in-region SME for data in MDA. Activities will include profiling new data sets, refine data quality parameters, analyzing data quality exceptions, escalating issues to vendors, tracking issue resolution, and coordinating impact advisories with users. - Candidates will be expected to possess and demonstrate solid experience funds/Instrument Reference and analytics data. Good RDBMS/SQL database skills Roles and Responsibilities : - Data SME a. Build data expertise to support analysis of consumer onboarding. b. Become an in-region expert for funds and analytic data in the i-MDA Database c. Develop collaborative relationships with globally distributed MDA, tech, Operations and vendor contacts as required for successful alignment and delivery of program benefits - Define Data Quality rules a. Participate in the definition of business rules that identify recurring patterns of exceptions, and the definition of resolution paths for recurring issues b. Identify opportunities to enhance DQ rule characteristics to more tightly identify alerts of relevance to consumers - Consumer support a. Support new and existing consumers queries related to capabilities and product offerings b. Support onboarding of new consumers on MDA by analyzing their requirements and directing them to the appropriate data set to fulfill their functional requirements. c. Define operating model for customer engagement. d. Build and document understanding of data usage sufficient to support targeted escalation of exception conditions to relevant Consumers. - Vendor Support a. Support onboarding on new products on MDA. b. Help in defining data governance for new data set c. Ability to research and understand the various data set supported by the vendors d. Connect with vendors to appropriately raise incidents, escalate wherever required and facilitate in remediation e. Help to improving vendor data quality through data issues and constant feedback f. Maintain inventory of vendor data incidents and related clarifications received from the vendors - Data Profiling a. Profile new data sets to identify and document characteristics required to build logical data models, data quality checks and exception alerts aligned to consumer priorities. b. Participate in the calibration of DQ parameters based on daily experience with exception volumes and causes. Qualifications : Industry Knowledge : - 5 or more years of experience in Finance, Consulting or Technology industries - 3 or more years of experience with Asset and Wealth Management products and processes - Detailed knowledge of instruments, instrument analytics, funds and share classes preferred Functional Skills : - 5 or more years of experience managing data analysis projects - Business Analyst in with experience in instruments, instrument analytics, Funds domain. - Excellent communication skills and proven ability to develop collaborative relationships with business partners are essential - Superior analytical skills: Quickly define and deconstruct problems. Identify patterns. Identify root causes.
