JP Morgan Chase - Fund Controller Analyst - Asset Management

As a Fund Accounting Analyst within the Fund Controllers team, you deliver specific fund tasks and reporting requirements with a strong focus on accuracy, completeness, and timeliness. You review financial statements, perform technical accounting adjustments, and produce net asset value outputs that support key stakeholder decisions. You partner with internal teams and external parties to validate business-critical numbers, respond to audit needs, and execute ad hoc deliverables under tight deadlines.

Job Responsibilities:

- Review quarter-end property financial statements, including variance analysis and required accounting adjustments under International Financial Reporting Standards and U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

- Prepare fund financial statements and net asset value pricing deliverables

- Produce management fee and incentive fee calculations and supporting working papers

- Perform financial reporting and reconciliations to support accurate reporting outputs

- Analyze investment financial statements and related financial reports to assess reasonability, accuracy, and completeness

- Reconcile business-critical financial numbers received from external parties and take ownership of follow-up and resolution

- Calculate investment-level net asset values and internal rates of return based on approved methodologies

- Coordinate annual budget reviews, approvals, and budget template creation

- Support senior fund controllers and portfolio managers with day-to-day deliverables and reporting needs

- Communicate clearly with auditors and provide requisite financial information and support documentation

- Deliver allied financial procedures and ad hoc requests to meet fund and stakeholder requirements

Required qualifications, skills, and capabilities:

- Hold a Chartered Accountant, Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, or Certified Public Accountant qualification

- Demonstrate 1+ years of experience in fund accounting or financial reporting

- Apply working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards and U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles in fund reporting activities

- Understand real estate fund structures and operating models

- Execute financial statement preparation activities, including variance analysis and key supporting schedules

- Interpret accounting concepts, including deferred tax and impairment, within reporting and review work

- Exhibit strong analytical skills and attention to detail when reviewing financial information

- Use Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word effectively for reporting, reconciliations, and working papers

- Communicate clearly and concisely with internal stakeholders and external parties

- Prioritize tasks effectively as a self-starter managing multiple deliverables

- Work effectively in high-pressure situations while maintaining quality and control

Preferred qualifications, skills, and capabilities:

- Utilize Yardi to support fund accounting workflows, reporting, or reconciliations

- Develop experience using AI-powered analytics, workflow automation, or intelligent process tools to drive efficiency gains, reduce manual effort, or improve accuracy in operational processes

- Strengthen stakeholder management skills through direct interaction with external parties and auditors
