Financial Analysis (Smart Hiring) Description: - Global Finance & Business Management ("GF&BM") India is a combined LOB-aligned (Line of Business-aligned) finance & business support team located in India and is part of JPMorgan's global capability center (GCC). We are part of the Office of the CFO (OCFO) organization within JPMorgan, which has 13000+ people across the globe, majority of whom are tasked with managing the firm's Finance function, responsible for reporting quarterly earnings and complying with regulatory requirements along with managing the firm's capital. - GF&BM India was established in September 2002 and currently we have a network of more than 3400+ professionals based out of our Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad offices who support four main "pillars" of work - Controllers, Planning & Analysis, Finance Operations and Business Client & Products. We recognize that our people are our strength and diversity of thought and practices makes us more successful. - As an Associate in Planning and Analysis, you will be responsible for coordinating the budgeting and forecasting process, as well as management reports and presentations. - Financial Analysis is responsible for partnering across the firm to provide financial and strategic analysis, oversight, and coordination of budgeting and forecasting. Our Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) teams are responsible for a wide range of activities including financial control, forecasting and budgeting, analysis of financial/business metrics, delivery of weekly/monthly/quarterly management reporting, development of new reporting capabilities (e.g. dashboards), and advising the line of business CFOs on how to increase profitability and efficiencies. - You will analyze, prepare, and reconcile financial and technical data as well as prepare reports, while always thinking of and devising ways to streamline and minimize cycle times through automated applications and process improvement. You will also help develop recommendations effecting business procedures and operations and maintain financial and reporting systems. In addition, you will assist the department and other team members with special projects or components of other projects as needed. In a Financial Analysis role, you would be responsible for: - Driving annual/continual financial planning activities for Technology / Operation functions, providing business rationale and decisions for all month-end financial performance and forecasting, conducting reviews and analysis on product financial performance, budgeting, billing, trends, and exception reports - Detailed review on allocated expenses received by business from other supporting functions and challenging charges not appropriately allocated based on usage or other metrics - Efficiency reporting, analytics and strategy - including, but not limited to - location strategy, span of control, reporting and analytics - Creating financial business cases supporting business initiatives - Developing and tracking performance metrics, creating presentations, and providing financial analysis on a variety of topics to senior management - Reporting on and monitoring key metrics, driving data quality initiatives across the product area, and helping define future needs of the business area - Performing variance analysis to understand the key drivers of the results and presenting commentary to senior managers, explaining changes from prior forecasts/budgets - Detailed understanding of billing keys and services and associated expense allocations provided by business to products, preparing multi-year review decks on charges and handling adhoc from functions receiving the charges - Helping design new reports and dashboards to efficiently deliver the financial results to senior management - Enhancing controls and streamlining processes, introducing automation where possible Qualifications: - CA / MBA with 4-6 years of work experience, preferably in Financial Services, and/or accounting background - Strong leadership skills to independently drive initiatives and agreed outcomes - Strong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to analyze large data sets and present conclusions concisely - Proficiency with data mining/gathering and manipulation of data sets, preferably with knowledge in Alteryx - Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint - Proven track record for executing on special projects / assignments with often little lead time or information - Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly - Inquisitive, enthusiastic and diligent, and capable of challenging peers - Highly motivated self-starter with excellent time management/prioritization skills - Highly motivated and able to thrive and think clearly under pressure and tight deadlines - Ability to create ad hoc reporting for senior management - Team player with the ability to be respected as a trusted partner for the Business, Finance, and FP&A Teams About Us: JPMorgan Chase & Co., one of the oldest financial institutions, offers innovative financial solutions to millions of consumers, small businesses and many of the world's most prominent corporate, institutional and government clients under the J.P.
